So today I took a walk down Orchard Rd in Singapore and a group of 34 various Lambo's went by. I counted each and every one. Some people have too much money. And yes, I am jealous.
Be happy for them...at least they are spending their bucks and having fun...better than seeing their bank statement print-out of unspent money
its like taxes...
I hate them until I see some 20-something year old kid hitting the afterburners on a jet fighter I helped pay for
then I think..okay at least someone is having the time of their make the beast with two backsing lives on my dime
and they will even kill people who want to kill me in return for the thrill...
now that's a good spend by my standards
This is what I saw parked outside my hotel one morning in Singapore:

I didn't recognize it, it's a Pagoni Zonda. Very limited edition.

Exactly, and not only are they spending their bucks and having fun, but they're doing it in public and you get the opportunity to see those machines do what they're supposed to do and not just sit at a museum or car show.
I didn't mean to come across as truly upset at the spectacle. It was meant to be a tongue in cheek post. It is hard to comprehend that much money driving down the street at once though. Certainly when you understand the true cost of each of those cars in Sing dollars. Here, a VW golf can cost about $80 - $100 thousand US dollars... You do see a crazy number of Italian exotics on any given day. In addition to the Lambo's, I saw several of their glorious red rivals running around. In one day here, I saw more supercars than in my previous 31 years! It is a gearheads dream. But of course, I am still jealous. ;) There now, I used a smiley. Should help to clarify the intent of the post.

If I didn't watch Top Gear, I'd have no idea what this was. It's times like these a drooling smiley would be appropriate.
if somone paid me $25,000 a year (okay i know those guys make atleast twice that) to fly a jet and blow shit up. id do it in a heartbeat. it would be a COOL ass job if ur commited to being a pilot for the rest of your life.

I have quite a few military customers. Several of them are pilots, either retired or active. One retired pilot owns 5 Porsche's, with 4 of them less than two years old. Armed Forces pay well sometimes.

I think pilots in the military make some good coin.
A friend of mine from high school (few years older) went to Notre Dame (of course growing up in South Bend, this is common) and he graduated with an Accounting degree, got his CPA, and worked for a firm in chicago.
He got sick of it.
So he went to the Navy office, told them he wanted to fly jets.
Sure as shit enough........he got in, excelled..........and now is a Naval Fighter Pilot.
I think his story is cool as make the beast with two backs.
I can't wait to bump into him next time I am in town, but very doubtful. He seems to always be living abroad in some odd area.
He is in Scotland now. I didn't know we had a Navy base there?
That's a cool story, not a lot of people have the cojones to up and do something like that, good for him.
I kinda wonder what I would do if I began to hate my job.

I think the more amazing thing is he got in..........I've heard becoming a military fighter pilot is damn near impossible. I thought most came from the Naval Academy or respective higher education "military" institutions.
Oh yeah, he has flown sorties in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.
His facebook is pretty cool. They have all sorts of videos from his squadron.
The best are when they are practicing at an airport for real landings on an aircraft carrier.
The whole set up is just like the ship. The meatball, etc. All there.
Then of course they edit it up with music and the names of each pilot practicing.
I have huge envy for his job.
He flies the jet that has only one "passsenger"
so is that an F15?
