Title: I had to say goodbye to my Monster S2R-800.... Post by: sleeperbold on May 16, 2010, 08:20:46 AM Hi guys, I had to get rid of my 2005 Monster. I bought the baby with 1 mile on it and promptly put 23,000 more on it. I put a full Termi system/ecu/airbox on it. She had a evoluzione clutch slave, and a ZG windscreen, heated grips..etc etc...Here are a couple of pics (http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v337/2/32/507243513/n507243513_799060_2081.jpg) (http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v337/2/32/507243513/n507243513_799062_2811.jpg) So sad, but I got a good deal for her. It was def emotional. I'm still trying to get to know the new girl. I just picked her up this past Sunday. She's a little different, but I think we'll get along just fine. Title: Re: I had to say goodbye to my Monster S2R-800.... Post by: sleeperbold on May 16, 2010, 05:28:13 PM Yeah, I still miss it, even though I got the "Redhead", I just love the simple design of the monster. The fairings are a lot more complicated to remove than the 748 fairings with the Dzus fasteners. I like working on my own bike, I hope this doesn't mess with that too much. [moto]

Plus we needed RedBulls STAT! Title: Re: I had to say goodbye to my Monster S2R-800.... Post by: psycledelic on May 16, 2010, 06:10:39 PM You are going to miss that wet clutch, 70+hp, and mushy shocks. Good luck getting those qualities on a 1098. And a red one at that. What's next, new Dainese leathers and a constant smile on your face? Get it together man, before it's too late.
Oh yeah, very, very, very nice bike! Title: Re: I had to say goodbye to my Monster S2R-800.... Post by: 1KDS on May 19, 2010, 02:52:44 PM On all 1098s? I have a fork set that came with calipers, masters, triples etc. and they are not mono-blocs
Title: Re: I had to say goodbye to my Monster S2R-800.... Post by: 1KDS on May 19, 2010, 03:05:46 PM Google images confirms you are correct and I got screwed with 848 calipers >:(

I have a fork set that came with calipers, masters, triples etc. and they are not mono-blocs You got hosed. Congrats on the 1098 you are going to love it!! Get some new rearsets btw the stock ones are garbage, your foot slipping off mid corner is not fun. Title: Re: I had to say goodbye to my Monster S2R-800.... Post by: 1KDS on May 20, 2010, 04:01:07 PM You got hosed. Not really, looking at pricing on the mono-blocs yesterday. I paid as much for the whole set up as a pair of mono-blocs cost.Title: Re: I had to say goodbye to my Monster S2R-800.... Post by: sleeperbold on May 20, 2010, 05:15:42 PM Definitely must admit that the brakes are a bit of a step up from my S2R-800's "brakes". Way more feel. Bike is almost telepathic when it comes to handling as well. Haven't worked on any rear-set changes (I just did drop a bunch of coin on the bike itself) ;) But did get some security stuff and I am now looking for a cool clutch cover. I really ike the cycle cat 3 piece setup, but I am still looking. ;D
