Thought this would be interesting. What 5 people would you like to have a group conversation with? Alive or dead.
Mine in no particular order:
James Hetfield
Gary Rydstrom (sound designer/mixer/Director at Pixar)
Steven Spielberg
Peter O'Toole
Mario Lemieux
I could have picked Aristotle or Leonardo Da Vinci, but really what kind of conversation would that be? "Remember that time you drew the Vitruvian Man? That was awesome."
how many people will put Rossi on their lists?
Hmm....5 people.....
Jesus
Hitler
Andre the Giant
Mohammed (the prophet not Ali)
Ellen Page
I figure the complete WTF moment with the first 4 may just be enough to convince the latter to leave with me.
If I were being serious,

this would be a great round table to sit back and listen to and watch....
but for a serious discussion...not sure who'd I want to talk with, as it'd depend on what the topic is and the benefit I'd be seeking with said conversation....
I can't believe no one has mentioned the Kardashians or Paris Hilton

Trust me...
I'm nowhere near interesting enough to waste a choice on.
Aside from historical figures, I think it would be great to chat with my dad. Everybody in my family said that I am a mirror image of him and share the same personality and the love for cars/motorcycles.

I am (uttered with sincere, heartfelt and gloriously radiant humility) ;D
or as they say...I may not be much, but I'm all I ever think about
The only person I really need to talk to is the ancestor that decided to dump his offspring in africa, when there were so many other choices available.
WTF, I could have ended up in OZ, suppose this belongs in the NOGAS thread ;D
Winston Churchill
Ellen
My Grandfather
Queen Elizabeth
President Obama
The reason that I would like to ask these people questions is that they have all been in the public eye, all endured a hardship in one form or another (yes even the queen , she went through the bombing of London every night for years during ww2) and all have more experience at life than I do. I want to ask churchill about art, Ellen about dance my grandfather about life
The queen about her Uncle, Lord Louis Mountbatten( who was killed on his boat by an IRA Bomb) and Obama about how he deals with the hate that is heaped upon him daily as a black man in our country.
I think all five in the same room at the same time would be a wonderful and an enlightening thing. The conversation would be astounding!

I was actually supposed to go there for some CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) training about six months ago, but we got a travel ban put on us due to cost, so I never went.

I believe I offered to pay as I recall saying "I am here on business, I hate my company and they can pay for us to have fun"
It was something along those lines.
and of course you never offered to be honest and say "Oh no, that is not moral. You should only be paying for yourself"
I actually didn't expense all of that outing. I want to say the bill was 84$ with tip and I might have expensed 50$.
So I did sort of pay for it.

James Hetfield
You can do this, just join the Metclub. They have meet and greets for every show. It is a lottery but if you enter every one you're bound to meet them. He is very cool and all of them spend time with each person there.
I hate having other people around when I'm trying to converse with someone of note, there's always some vulture right behind you trying to take the attention. Thanks for the tip though, I might just join the Metclub anyway. I've been trying to buy an ESP JH-2 guitar for a few years, they're a bit rare though. And pricey.
For $50 a year you get 4 nice magazines, shirt, advance ticket sales- this is the best because they also let people with Metclub tickets into the venue 30 minutes early so you're pretty much guaranteed a front row spot without waiting allday long, and a lot of cool stuff on the web.

My list:
Hetfield- you made a good point and I would love to spend time talking about all his cars.

If you were an indy car fan and Jason Newsted was, I could totally get you a conversation there. A good friend of mine was very good friends with Metallica, the whole band. They are all supposedly very nice guys.
He vacations on Newsted's ranch in Montana each year.
