Dear State Farm,
For the 5 years I have insured my bike w/ you, you have done nothing but raise my rates. I have never made a claim and I don't have any speeding tickets. Yesterday I called asking for a rate reduction based on the above. You told me too bad. Well, I just switched to Rider Ins. and saved $150.
You can go suck it, State Farm.
State Farm = FAIL
All these stupid insurance do this now. Seems with my car I need to switch every two years before it gets out of control.
I have had Rider for the bike though for the last 6yrs. They are pretty good :)
+2 on Rider.
My insurance is actually going down year to year... despite having flown the damn thing off a cliff...
I guess I've got it good with GEICO. They like me it seems. $105/month. Three bikes, liability only, three cars, one liability + comprehensive + collision, one liability + comprehensive, and one liability only. Myself and my wife are on the policy.

That's a big +3
$400/yr full coverage/full tort 2007 KTM 950SMR
33yo with a good record
I got progressive... $760 a year for full coverage on my 696. Mercury insurance is about $1,200 on my car. I think I'm getting hosed but can't find cheaper prices anywhere. Then again, I have a speeding ticket and a 'unsafe' lane change (didn't signal when i changed lanes on an empty street).
I've been with them for 22 years for auto, home and umbrella policy. They suck on bikes. I still sweat them every year for discounts and so far so good
.
Geico here. 4 bikes, full coverage with a low deductible for stuff. Oldest covered bike is a 95 900SP. I've also got a private import 600ss that they gave full coverage for. Annual is right at 600 for all 4 -- FULL umbrella coverage, 1 million. We also have 2 cars and a house covered by them.
I have Foremost insurance co. they paid a pretty big claim for me last year on my new 696 and my rate droped i went from 575$ last year to 525$ this year.
progressive
40, clean record
350 a year for full coverage on my 06 s2r1k

I have foremost also, I'm 21yo paying $475 yr with good student, safety course, clean record. Also pay semi-annually for another deduction. Full coverage, full tort $500 deductible.
I also live on the over populated long island we pay more for insurance. When i lived in Savannah Ga. I paid a whoping 200$ for insurance on my zx6r ninja.
I had to dump American Family for everything but my GasGas. They jacked my house rates $150, my truck rate $100, S4R rate 600 and GasGas rates $40.
All this with NO claims. Just a money grab. So now I have AmFam for the GasGas $135, AAA for house (addition 60k coverage for $75 less than original AmFam rate) Progressive for The VFR (335) and Foremost for the Ducati (229).
make the beast with two backsing ridiculous I can't get decent rates from one company for everything.
Foremost wanted 950!!!! for my 04 VFR. While my 05 S4R costs only 229.
I have the cars with State Farm but had to go with foremost for the bike.
A year ago I was paying around $1000 with progressive.
Switched to Foremost with same coverage it was $750
Now this year just renewed and it is $550 :) I also am 25 now though.
I'm also with Foremost for the bike only. $275 for the year, in NH. I have Geico for everything else. 3 cars, 4 drivers, two are teens. Needless to say My auto ins isn't as cheap s it used to be. Used to be aroun g $800 a year, now it's more like $2500 :o
That happened when the two teens & the third car went on.
AAA $75/yr liability only monster 620, plus $5/yr for each additional bike. in california, 35 yr old, with clean record (knock on wood).
I live on Long Island in NY and i pay $375 a year for full coverage on my 1098 through state farm. They get me on the car, 2001 toyota 4Runner, it is around $1300.
weird. I use State Farm on my Monster and they've been really good to deal with. Stinks you've gotten your shit jerked around.
+1 to Rider also.
$424/year for full coverage with 400/deduc on my s2r800
28 y/o with good driving record
I was actually going to contact State Farm once my policy is over this August.
Been a member with Progressive for 2 years now.
~$125/year liability only - I'm a cheap bastard.
going on 26 years old, no incidents/points, no claims.
Inquired about theft protection last year, but requires full coverage and $450 more per year. Decided to get a Kryptonite Fughettaboudit for a one-time charge of $120. Once again - cheap bastard.
going on 37yo with a sordid past and I have had my bike policy with Progressive for going on 10 years now...currently I have full coverage on both of my bikes and my renewal (lowered by them with out me asking) due July 1st is for $388.00....

I've thought about doing liabilty only since most of the time im out, the bike is within my view. but at home its a different story, i dont have a garage [bang]
5 years ago w/ State Farm, I paid $320/yr full coverage.
By this point, my bike and I are 5 years older (I'm 32 and married) and they wanted near $500 full coverage.
Switched to Rider, and I'm paying $327 full coverage.
I wouldn't consider running liability only. And it's got zero to do with theft. Someone runs into you and runs, or doesn't have insurance, you're on the hook for all repairs. Not such a money saver then is it :p Not to mention wrecking it yourself.
Even my GasGas, which is now 90%off road use, has full coverage despite value of around 3k.
i have Allstate and pay 60 a month for full coverage
I love state farm.
Condo, Cars, and all bikes with them. Line item discounts rock. I keep getting more money off because of my loyalty to them and I keep all my insurable items policies with them. I go in once every 4-6 months to discuss my needs and we adjust based off the conversation I have with the Agent.
rates are very low, service from my local broker is impeccable.
Remember on insurance.......cheapest rates don't always equal a pleasant experience when the need arises to file a claim.
always keep that in mind.
I figure my rates will really drop when I get to be Ducatiz' age ;D
Fuuuuuuuuuuhck yew!! (Shakes colostomy bag threateningly)

Agreed. However when I called to negotiate/complain about the rates, the response was "Well, we are sorry, but we have paid out a lot of claims on motorcycles the past few yers and aren't making enough money." Really!??!!? Are you makes the beast with two backsing kidding me?
That is why I am giving State Farm the 'ol one finger salute.
