Title: Group buys... Post by: Monstar_100 on May 24, 2010, 09:00:22 PM G'day Everyone,
Well long story short, I'm working Casual for a fella at the moment who can get or import what ever you need for your Italian motorcycle... I will be able to get a secure job if i can show i am able to get some money in other then general sales and work. I was wondering if i was to organise a group buy what would people want to be able to get there hands on... I was thinking something small like, Sprocket sets (smaller or standard) just a thought... Anyway please let me know what you think! If its a Crap idea please say so! haha Cheers ~Marty Title: Re: Group buys... Good luck. Title: Re: Group buys... Post by: mattyvas on May 24, 2010, 09:23:23 PM It's not crap Marty.
By anything you/we want what brand(s) are we talking about? How many people do you need to make it a group buy? What kinda discount are we talking about? Lastly, how would the items be distributed i.e. NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, TAS etc... Title: Re: Group buys... Post by: Monstar_100 on May 24, 2010, 09:36:18 PM Just scouting at this stage Matty, Just trying to see what or if people are looking for common things...
Once we (or if we) have interest we will look into postage options and finer details Title: Re: Group buys... Post by: signora monster on May 24, 2010, 09:38:24 PM Adjustable rearsets for M695 ? Quality ones with lots of adjustment. [thumbsup]

Quite right I wonder if we will end up with another sponsor? But let us look after what we already have Mmick Title: Re: Group buys... And this is what I predict will happen in this instance as well - check out the replies, wide and varied, and nothing that screams "quantitiy discount". Not trying to be argumentative or to deter people from trying - just that we are a relatively small group and unless there is something that will be of universal appeal to 10-20% of active people here, we are not going to attract any quantity discounts from anyone (nor should we expect one!) Title: Re: Group buys... Post by: mattyvas on May 25, 2010, 08:49:17 PM Yep with our little group of people and a variety of bikes and bike ages group buying anything other than
chains/sprockets, oil and oil filters would be difficult. We are lucky to have a specific board sponsor and people should be taking advantage of it. Title: Re: Group buys... Post by: Monstar_100 on May 25, 2010, 09:04:20 PM The purpose of this group buy is to show the owner of the business that there is enough interest in items that he has or can get...
As i have met a couple of you and i think you are all lovely! i would have liked to have organized something for you guys... As i can see where this is going and as i was warned i will be removing the offer of the group buy... If at some stage everyone is looking for a common item we will attempt to look at it again ~Marty Title: Re: Group buys... Post by: ozducati on May 25, 2010, 09:05:40 PM If anyone can agree on something for a group buy, then am more than happy to look at it for you all... i have a lot of suppliers who are nearly all Euro based (a couple from the US), and i can get some quite good pricing on "bulk buys", even down to small quantities of 5 and 10 pcs... i quite often buy as much as i can when ordering, and get some discounts, but because i sit on the stock for a while the advantage is sometimes lost..
BUT, if for instance we had say 5 or 10 people wanting a group buy on something like some purdy EVR Pressure plates or Pressure Plates & Springs/Caps/Screw kits then i can ship straight in and distribute straight away at a ripper price.. you can choose the colour of your pressure plate (they are 2 pc, so have separate top/bottom colours if you wish) or anything you can all suggest, it pays to ship in bulk from Europe or the US... Don't forget we give all forum members a discount already, just register on the site, and send me an email so i can set you up in the system... your pricing will then show the discounts when you add an item to the shopping cart... http://www.carbon-imports.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=90 (http://www.carbon-imports.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=90) (http://www.carbon-imports.com.au/images/vented%20pressure%20plate3.jpg) (http://www.carbon-imports.com.au/images/EVR-Pressure-Plate-Kit2.jpg) Title: Re: Group buys... Post by: monstermick58 on May 26, 2010, 03:54:17 AM Realistically, the only thing that would come close would be oil filters / chains
