Title: Can you paint over JB Weld?
Post by: He Man on May 25, 2010, 02:03:15 PM
Tried a search on the interweb, i get hits on JB Weld will adhere to paint, but what about the other way around?

I got a hole in my left cover that got patched with JB Weld. Not sure if i can just go ahead and remove it, clean both sides. and just go ahead and paint it. Or if i should remove the JB weld, and weld it shut. id weld it myself, but i dont have any gas.

Wash it well, He Man.  Some epoxies leak a waxy substance called amine blush as they cure.   Not certain that JB Weld does, but it prevents many paints from curing well.  Can be washed with soap and water a few days after the epoxy curing process is done.
