Title: Cruising Pegs Post by: TJR178 on May 27, 2010, 02:16:32 AM Yeah, I know, don't laugh. I'm planning doing a couple longer rides this year, and even though I'll be doing my best to not ride on any super slabs, I may have to at times.
Due to my 6'3" frame, my legs cramp up often. Lately I've been thinking of trying to mount some kind of cruising pegs for these rides that can be easily installed and removed. I have frame sliders that I use as rests sometimes, but they don't allow me to stretch my lower extremities very well. Has anyone ever done this? Thoughts? I don't know of anyone actually doing this - but I don't see why someone with the right skills couldn't pull it off. Title: Re: Cruising Pegs Post by: DucHead on May 27, 2010, 03:59:55 AM I have them on my Bandit for the same reason, but they're much easier to fit.
I have stretched my legs by hanging them on the Cycle Cat frame sliders. [laugh] Get a Ducati Indiana!!!!!!Title: Re: Cruising Pegs Post by: avizpls on May 27, 2010, 05:19:49 AM im 6'3" as well
On super long rides if Im cramping up....I'll sit on the tank and let my legs hang for a few miles. This is not what I advise [leo] Title: Re: Cruising Pegs Post by: TJR178 on May 27, 2010, 07:25:03 AM Buy a cruising bike perhaps, them fit a ducati motor.......... [laugh] I hope to have a cruiser (in addition to my Monster) by this time next year. Oh, and without a Duc motor. Dare I say more... I have them on my Bandit for the same reason, but they're much easier to fit. I have stretched my legs by hanging them on the Cycle Cat frame sliders. I've done that too, but it's still uncomfortable. Guess I'll have to use some engineering skills! Title: Re: Cruising Pegs Post by: ctrain on May 27, 2010, 10:07:15 AM I had knee surgery about a year ago and have noticed that i'm a lot more uncomfortable on longer rides now. i put down the passenger pegs and hang my feet off of them. (you end up laying on your tank) But this works for me.

I did it several times but gave up and now own another cruiser for dem long rides [thumbsup] Title: Re: Cruising Pegs Post by: Monster Dave on May 28, 2010, 10:03:09 AM When I ride the 130 mile haul between cities I put my heels up on the frame that's horizontal up hear the front area of the fuel tank. Seems to work alright and it shifts my sitting position just enough for me to be able to stretch out my back. Plus my feet can be put on the pegs again pretty quick in the event that it's necessary.
