Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: Mr.Saturn on May 27, 2010, 07:48:10 AM I'm usually not a fan of solo seats like this but yours seems to match the lines of the bike really well! I'll definitely been keeping an eye out for updates!
Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: DucHead on May 27, 2010, 07:57:54 AM Lookin' good!
Aren't you the guy who had the cafe-style seat cowl a while back? Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: hackers2r on May 27, 2010, 08:01:08 AM Yes, this has taken over. But I am still working on the cowl.
Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: NoisyDante on May 27, 2010, 12:26:43 PM That's cool, is it fabbed from an existing tailpiece?
Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: orangelion03 on May 27, 2010, 12:29:44 PM Liking it!
Would you consider a version that didnt bulge for the hand rails? I would seriously consider cutting mine off to fit a seat like that!!! Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: hackers2r on May 27, 2010, 12:39:55 PM Gotta contact you about the first 2. This one fits the newer monsters. I will be making a version for the early ones as well.
Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: hackers2r on May 27, 2010, 12:41:10 PM Orange, are you referring to where the seat dips down lower?
Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: ducpainter on May 27, 2010, 12:50:34 PM Gotta contact you about the first 2. This one fits the newer monsters. I will be making a version for the early ones as well. Since you want any input as to design ideas... I have one. [evil] Bring the lower leading edge forward...to reduce some of the transitions. It will also hide the shock spring. ;) Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: hackers2r on May 27, 2010, 12:58:24 PM Interesting. I still have this one but the one I'm modifying is getting rid of that angle altogether, revealing more trellis. Good to know people like it!
Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: scduc on May 27, 2010, 04:11:58 PM I do like it, But for my taste, I think the rear hump should be slightly lower. I also agree to either move the angle forward or remove it some. I think it sit's too low below the tank line. If you make them, I am interested.
Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: Howie on May 28, 2010, 01:26:21 AM Nice! Any storage under the hump?

[moto] [beer] Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: ♣ McKraut ♣ on May 28, 2010, 04:07:24 AM i like it...though i think i'm also wanting it not so much over the passenger hand rails.
Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: Raux on May 28, 2010, 04:42:17 AM how about bringin it down and forward to match the tank on the lower side. basically taking out the second lower tank transition. paint it the same color as the tank and you'll see what i mean. I like the curve over the grab handles, gives it a wider butt, more SBKish.
too me this gives it a more old naked 1992 SS. nice. Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: dbran1949 on May 28, 2010, 06:31:33 AM Throw a piece of foam on there (spray painted black) to give a preview of what it would look like with a seat pad on it. Looks great BTW [thumbsup]. Nice finish. Any pics of the construction process?
Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: hackers2r on May 29, 2010, 02:49:46 AM More pics will be posted as soon as I have some. At the moment, the bottom is being constructed. There really aren't any restrictions on how much this can be modified. There will be 2 main models of it, the one you see and the one without that lower angle. This is, of course, unless no one really likes the one that does have the lower angle. I am trying to integrate some storage into the rear of it. There will also be options for paint and upholstery as well. Thanks all, and I will post more information soon.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/hundredpercentkill/dmf/seatpan.jpg) I would be interested with it looking like that and more like a SBK profile from an overhead view (wider in rear the of the seat area - narrow as possible at the tank). Can you get a pic from an overhead view? Forgot, what is the weight of the seat so far? Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: ute on May 29, 2010, 01:47:13 PM make the hump bigger...as in taller ...and agreed i like it wider over the handles
looks a lot better to see more of the trellis great job Title: Re: Solo Seat in progress Post by: scduc on May 29, 2010, 03:54:46 PM So are we to assume that this will be a production product?
