I am certainly curious to try it....
San Franciscoâ€"based mixologist Jacqueline Patterson created this drink with seasonal rhubarb syrup and locally produced St. George absinthe verte. The sweetness of the syrup and the licorice flavor of the absinthe balance out the assertiveness of the bourbon, for a cocktail that can become a smack of evil if too many are consumed.
What to buy: Bulleit Bourbon is praised for its high rye content and toasty aroma; Old Overholt rye whiskey may be substituted.
St. George absinthe verte works beautifully in this cocktail because it's on the drier side. If you can't find it, Kübler absinthe is a decent substitute.
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 ounces Bulleit Bourbon
1 ounce Rhubarb Syrup
3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
Dash St. George absinthe verte
Ice
Lemon twist
Mint leaf, crushed
Sound yummy.....
Where would one find "rhubarb" syrup? Wait, what do I care......I hate Rhubarb. That Vile Weed ruins everything!
Just gimmee a rye, neat.
:-)
obviously you have not had BGB's rhubarb deserts...........old family recipes going back a hundred years and to another continent............Awesome! That vile weed as you call it is a wonderful plant-sorry I like ll plants including weeds and thistles. They all have a beauty to them and they all have a place.

Hmm... I think I like bourbon and Absinthe too much on their own to mix them up. Can I have some Rhubarb pie instead?
Hmmm. I think the bears trying because I love Bulleit & Absinthe
Then again, I love Mint and Oranges too, but together... not so much.

Of course, Bourbon and Absinthe make up the very old Sazerac cocktail.
There's simply no excuse for rhubarb, though.
I'm drinking one right now. And I have to say it's good.
But if I'm looking for this sort of flavor, I'd honestly rather have a Sazerac.
