I have been having some clutch issues on my 695 lately, so I decided to throw the book at it and flush/check/renew everything. First time I grab the clutch lever in the morning, and again in the evening, I am getting a popping noise from the engine case, and a bit of friction at the lever. Also, I have been noticing on freeway speed downshifts, the clutch does not seem to engage immediately anymore. Anyway, I pulled the slave cylinder and push rod to check for any binding, found none. I bled the clutch system, then decided to tear down the clutch pack to check everything out on that side. I noticed a bit of strange wear on the pusher plate, but nothing really severe. Next up came the plates, all good there, then check torque at the hub securing nut. I found the nut to be only a touch more than hand tight!! I removed the nut, loctited it, then resecured with my impact wrench. After test driving the bike, the clutch engagement feels much more positive. Downshifts are smoother and the clutch is now properly engaging. I am glad that I was able to catch this before it became more of an issue. The moral of the story is, this all took me a little less than an hour, and now I can feel much better about the operation of my bike. If you have not checked the securing nut on your APTC clutch yet, I suggest that you find the time and do it.
Regards,
Adam
Damn fine Idea, I did a Tutorial on checking/Tightening the nut, here is the Link:

But if that nut comes off, the Damage to the engine can cost mega Dollars!
I had that happen on my S4 with a dry clutch retorqued to 186NM 136ftlbs now Ok for last 8000miles
+1 this is next on my list
I was waiting to slap my dealer/Ducati with a warranty claim when my clutch was replaced at 22k miles.
No such "luck" - it was torqued to spec. They had heard about the issue though.
