Title: Disconnected Tail Light --> Bike wont start
Post by: Airborne on May 28, 2010, 03:38:12 PM
To add to the amount of problems I'm having, I disconnected my tail light which caused my headlight to go out and guage cluster to turn off. When I turn the key on, the fuel pump comes on, but the guage cluster and headlight stay off and the bike won't turn over. A quick check of the fuses show that none of them are blown.

So disconnecting your tail light cause your headlight to go out? Do you mean the fuse or the physical connections?

In between putting everything back together (swingarm) I went to go rewire my tail light, simply disconnected it, when I reconnected it, everything died. Gauges dont even sweep. Immobilizer flashes as normal though.

Check the fuses.  You probably shorted a connector.  Fuse #6 controls the items in question.

Test the fuse in question.  Sometime (depending on the fuse) they don't look like their burnt out.

Test for shorts in the wiring.
