At least the squid has on full leathers (if that is indeed him in the photo)

Almost seems fake... there's not a mark on the car in that 2nd photo.. Not calling shens at all - just pretty weird

Apparently it happened at pretty low speed.

Some of our guests saw the aftermath, it was quite close by to here.

Did the bike fall down a hill or off a cliff and just so happened to land on top of the car?

I agree.........there is no front damage to the car.

Even at a low speed, it is going to leave a mark.

Who's fault was it? Driver or rider? Yeah, if that's the rider in question at least he's geared up. [thumbsup]

From someone who saw it:

"The guy posing was not involved in the wreck.

I was riding with this group and the guy posing was riding right behind the guy that crashed. Some of your facts are correct and some are not. Let me clear the air here...

We were behind the mazda, caught up to it at the intersection where the car made a last minute decision to turn left. My buddy saw the car slowing down and assumed he was pulling aside to let us pass and then turned left. His front tire literally drove up the side of the car leaving just a slight tire mark on the drivers door and bending the mirror. The back popped up ejecting the rider over the bike and the car to have him land on his head rolling onto his right shoulder in front and left of the car where he quickly got up and ran to the side of the road because the car was still moving. Result was a broken collar bone and an overall bad time.

Fault..... I would have to say both with more of an emphasis towards the bike. Passing in an intersection and assuming....well we all know what happens when you assume. Hope this helps to clarify"

Thanks for the update with what happened.

Sounds like the rider made a pretty bad decision and luckily he wasn't hurt all that bad and sounds like he will make a full, but probably painful in the meantime recovery.

What an odd, odd scene.

That totally sounds like a Gary Larson Far Side caption

Gotta be the most odd looking scene for a crash.
Thanks for the details it does make sense once explained but still looks very weird looking at it.
Hope the rider recovers well.

One of my riding buddies just did the same thing (passing a slow car at an intersection and T-boning) [bang]   It is 100% the bikes fault IMO.  Like said above, you cannot pass withing so many feet of intersections.

Fact is sometimes weirder than fiction.

I have seen some pretty freakin' odd crashes myself...can't say this one takes the cake.  Hoping for a speedy recovery for the rider.

Oh, and as far as fault goes...I know it's never bright to assume a driver is going to do anything other than the stupidest possible thing he/she can come up with, but I'm a bit tired of idiot drivers...like the one that flipped me off today for getting in his way while he was going THE WRONG WAY ON A ONE WAY STREET so he could turn into a driveway that he would otherwise have had to trouble himself to go around the block to get to.   >:(  I'm just sayin'...

I like the title from the original thread

"Red sportbike parked on hood of SUV[car] (Hwy 84/Pescadero) - Anyone know?"
