... you know those maddening pop-up ads you see on sites like motorcycle.com? (hover over "performance" on this page (http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/kawasaki/2010-kawasaki-versys-review-89580.html) if you want an example) How I hate them so. I hate being punished for moving my mouse around on a page.
Well, they put up a page with a comments section. Clearly, they have never been to youtube, or have seen a webpage with a comment section, or have used the internet, aside from trying to ruin it.
I would be delighted if the internet meme of the day was comment-bombing this site to oblivion. So, go ahead and leave a profanity-filled screed love letter. I am sure they would love to hear from you :-*

I don't care where you may live, you're all great Americans
I read your comments and had to LOL.
Bah, they have started to edit the page. In case you missed them, here are the comments:
These little links with all their popups make my skin crawl. At least when they had a double underline I knew to avoid them. Putting this kind of link in your content shows a base contempt for your user. Your product will only serve to weaken the brand of any company that uses it.

stop clutterijng my my websurfing with this advertising crap. People are trying to make money off of doing nothing. Go work at a factory or spin a wrench or do something that turns us back into a manufacturing industry giant instead of the get-rich-quick technology in-and-out quick money inflation building industry that does nothing but clutter our landscape. Even if the landscape is only virtual.

I'm hoping the next place you go is bankruptcy. I hate your links, they take forever to load (I'[m on a satellite connection), hide what I'm legitimately trying to look at, and annoy the piss out of me. Be sure to tell any idiot trying to use them that I will do my best to never buy from sites that use this "technology", or even read their content.

This concept is garbage. if I wanted to know everything about a certain word, or an individual, I'd go and search about them elsewhere. That's what Wikipedia, Google, and similar search engines are for. Pop ups should only be on VH1 during a crappy 80's music video

Your hyper-links SUCK & very often lead me away from a page because I am trying to read something & everytime I accidently hit one, a majorly annoying pain in the ass hyperlink pops-up in my way. I wish everytime you were trying to read something on your screen someone would walk by & punch you in the face..... That would be justice for your annoying little Hyperlinks.

Not only do I avoid these "evolved" hyperlinks like I avoid venereal disease, I avoid webpages that use them as a source of revenue. Whenever possible, I install plugins that allow me to avoid loading vibrant content altogether. But, clearly there is tremendous value to be added with your "service" since you don't actually use these on your own web page (vibrantmedia.com)

I'm sorry, but you're make the beast with two backsing stupid.
By: Johnny on 02/06/2010 17:30:32
Your platform is a scourge. It is not progressing the hyperlink, it's slowing down the web by imposing load heavy, poorly related and obnoxious advertising on people who accidentally roll over what should be a simple hyperlink. Please, please go away.

I have to say that I ABSOLUTELY HATE these kinds of links. All the so called "improvements" would be fine if the link was actually clicked by CHOICE. But the obnoxious pop-up behavior of the current implementation is completely unforgivable. I actually steer AWAY from pages which contain these kinds of links, as I would from any situation where a salesperson kept butting in unasked and unwanted.

Re-posted my comment .... just for fun.
me as "unalienable rights"
so much for freedom of speech when you edit people's comments because someone speaks something you may not agree with. the's pretty lame, just as this technology seems to be in how it distorts the directness of a simple underlined hyperlink that goes direct.

Sure, I'm all for evolving tech - but your deployment is obnoxious. My job is user experience, and your ham-fisted pop-ups tossed on a page are just an irritating experience. They obscure stuff I'm trying to look at if I accidentally mouse over them, slow down the page loads - and on occasion just make the beast with two backsing crash the page. Evolve the link sure, but come up with something better.
