Post by: Betty on June 04, 2010, 11:59:17 PM Isn't that the wrong side (damage-wise) for turn 4?
... and it doesn't look too serious. Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ? Post by: Mr.S2R on June 05, 2010, 12:11:58 AM interesting to see the SA plates on it!

Post by: Jukie on June 05, 2010, 12:41:54 AM not today vince I have just spent it all at nfi :o
Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ? Post by: Serious Groper on June 05, 2010, 01:01:40 AM Would be interesting to see how much it goes for. The auctions i went to the 'good' bikes were going for stupid money. At least i doubt a Desmo could be re-birthed so maybe it won't go for 'to' much [leo] Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ? Post by: craigo on June 05, 2010, 01:40:25 AM I have photos of the magic "X out of 1500" unit number on that bike that was binned at EC. You can't tell what the magic number is from the pickles photos. The EC one was cactus on both sides (it ate some tarmac and gravel on the left then flipped and ate gravel on the right). Hard to tell from the pics on pickles if it's the same bike. The EC one was def registered in NSW when it ate it.

Its 100% the one Craigo, I know this because i hooked the owner up with Carbon Imports to replace the bar ends, levers and clipons. it is 1496/1500 . From what i have been told it is a repo and finance is chasing between 65 to 70k. The damage is more than skin deep,Even if your a good painter and repair the panels, you will be up for at lease 15k for the necessary bits to bring it up to scratch. Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ? Post by: Nickati on June 05, 2010, 02:19:34 AM So that takes it over the $85K mark, they must be dreaming :-X
Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ? Post by: craigo on June 05, 2010, 02:23:23 AM yep, 1496 it was. Weird that is ended up in SA. I still remember cringing when I saw that thing get dragged of the pickup ute at the track.

Post by: Dockstrada on June 05, 2010, 02:25:06 AM So that takes it over the $85K mark, they must be dreaming :-X Not to say the will achieve this amount, but you still need to concider transfers and rego .Plus the fact that ducati may not Honor the warranty it anymore. I have seen them for sale for 90k ride away new. ??? Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ? Post by: Nickati on June 05, 2010, 02:34:24 AM Thanks Dock, also add stamp duty when you register it......
Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ? Post by: Mr.S2R on June 05, 2010, 03:53:54 AM The EC one was def registered in NSW when it ate it. very dodgey - NSW reg (or just plates on it?), then SA reg and to be auctioned in NSW? something not right here. ???Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ? Post by: Dockstrada on June 06, 2010, 11:13:03 PM Sold 53k............
Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ? Post by: Mr.S2R on June 06, 2010, 11:59:17 PM purchased by yourself as a spare Dock? ;D
Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ? Post by: Dockstrada on June 07, 2010, 12:17:38 AM purchased by yourself as a spare Dock? ;D Nah. went for to much I estimate it will cost over 75k to bring it back,Then you need to contend with high k's ,only 1 key, no books or history. Explain that to the potential buyer down the track. You may be able to bodgy it up for less but it will always be a black sheep. A bike like that need to be mint. I have the parts to build a beast of a track bike but still it went for to much even for that. Il wait ;) Title: Re: Cheap Desmo anyone ?
