Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: vossy on June 05, 2010, 02:26:06 PM very sad for Vale.
The championship won't be the same without him. Well on a brighter note, this gives Casey a more optimistic chance for his championship campaign Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: Nickati on June 05, 2010, 02:32:12 PM Very very sad
Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: dragonworld. on June 05, 2010, 02:58:34 PM Bloody Nora!!! :o
I just got up and saw the subject header and shit meself!! :o I just got through reading the article about Wayne Rainey in AMCN last night on shift and I woke up to this on the Forum page! :( Couldnt get the thread open quick enough. Even the best can have a bad day day?? They just have a lot less than us mere mortals. [roll] Get well Vale. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: monsta on June 05, 2010, 03:15:38 PM more..

He wants to get that last championship so as to put daylight between him and anyone else! Wonder how poor Jeremy feels also. I hope Rossi still continues just for my selfish reason of seeing him race at the Island one last time!
Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: mattyvas on June 05, 2010, 04:26:51 PM Yep true I think we are all selfish and want to see him race at The Island one more time.
But he has never had a serious injury in his riding career, lots of bumps and scrapes but no major broken bones. It might be enough to see him say okay riding done or okay one last tilt but then some of us were thinking this might be he one last year with his contract up again this year. But can I say what's with that hair cut Vale ??? Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: Dannog on June 05, 2010, 08:45:51 PM Its hard to believe that he's ridden his whole career and never had a major break!. He's tough and I wouldn't think it'll top him returning this season.
Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: Mr.S2R on June 05, 2010, 08:48:08 PM well if the Legend Barry Sheene was still around and Rossi didnt continue he probably would of called him soft - or smart!!
I thought the haircut was cool - always loved that mohawk type of looke! [clap] Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: loony888 on June 05, 2010, 09:56:10 PM his record speaks for itself, but with no adversity we've only seen his "character" as the doing it easy winner. As others have said, he's been lucky with no major injuries, this will test his mettle. If he comes through it and is as good/fast i'll be surprised, he's done it all and won it all and i reckon this might hit home that he's human and as you get older you don't bounce!
chalk it up to pressure from lorenzo, but i still say GO STONER!!! paul Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: ozzys4r on June 06, 2010, 01:30:25 AM Its an absolute tragedy! For the sport in general.... I really hope takes the year off and comes back super fresh and hungry for 1 more championship... He is the greatest character bike racing has ever had and has done more for the sport than any other ever!
Sad, sad day :o Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: dragonworld. on June 06, 2010, 03:12:25 AM I seem to remember another rider from the evil 2 stroke era that could ride a bit, [thumbsup]
And ended up horribly injured, mainly due to the incompetence of medicos [roll] who showed his mettle, guts and determination by coming back and doing fairly well?? [bow_down] [bow_down] Lets see Rossi show his true inner strength! [thumbsup] (But of course GO STONER!! ;D ) Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: signora monster on June 06, 2010, 12:02:06 PM Being fairly fit and not having had too many horror injuries prior, I would guess the chance of a full recovery seems quite optimistic.
Get well soon Vale! :-* :-* :-* Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: Betty on June 06, 2010, 12:47:42 PM If it was me I'd call it quits.
If the average punter thought I needed to prove if I had the guts ... well then too bad for the average punter. He is doomed now anyway - unless he comes back and completely dominates ... you know ... 'ah but he isn't as good as he was before the accident' kinda comments. JB was indicating (without saying as much) it may have been a slight lack of concentration ... perhaps something is written on the wall. Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: avizpls on June 06, 2010, 04:09:24 PM effin motoGP.com!!!
Quote from: ROSSI on motpgp.com “Now I can say my morale is reasonably high because I’ve discovered I have a great rapport with morphine!” he joked, before going on to show that he was well and truly on the road to recovery with another comment about the race, which <name removed> won shortly after the interview. “I hope nobody wins!” I went on to see how rossi was doin, and JUST LIKE THAT they ruin the race I have DVR'd in the living room. WTF??? Anyways, they put a pin in his tibia and he's doing well. No time frame to return given. Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: Betty on June 06, 2010, 04:50:50 PM effin motoGP.com!!! I went on to see how rossi was doin, and JUST LIKE THAT they ruin the race I have DVR'd in the living room. WTF??? [laugh] Sorry, but [laugh] I reckon the website geeks (and plenty of others) would be coppin' it big time if a site dedicated to MotoGP didn't have the results front and centre ... and have them up as soon as possible. What were you thinking! Kudos for removing the name from your quote though. Title: Re: Rossi... sad day for motogp Post by: loony888 on June 06, 2010, 06:01:28 PM Kudos for removing the name from your quote though. +1 to that, even if my tivo didn't record it and i have to go to motogp.com to find out, ahem. paul. |
