OK, I have a Evotech that I can order for $134 shipped, and it looks pretty good.  The other that I have heard is good would be R and G, but they are like $45 more, and the only difference I can see is the square plate light instead of round..... 

I am new to Monsters, so I don't want to miss out on a good one (like Rizoma, maybe)....

I have an 1100 non-ABS if it helps.

Based on the other things you've done, make your own.

I have the DP tail tidy on my M1100 which I prefer coz it neatens up the rear-end without screaming I threw away the rear fender to the local  [leo].

Although if you happen to live someplace where Police have more important things to do then..... 

I have the fender eliminator from competition werks on my 696. Only drawback is that it relocates the key hole for the seat to under the tail between the mufflers. I don't know what the installation process was like because my dealer gave me free labor to install it because I bought it with the bike. I also had them put on the Competition Werks tail light with integrated blinkers.

The license plate can be put in 2 different positions. The other available position is closer to the tail.

Love that positon. We aint allowed it here in oz. Or the integrated blinker/indicators. Mr  [leo] says NO!!!
CW fenders are nice, but YOU will get a wet ass if riding on wet roads.

I thought i read some where there was a kit that came black? I need one for an 04 s4r?

I bought one from TPOparts.com. Was not only the cheapest one I found but it comes in black!! LOL. I like the way it plugs the frame with the kit itself and the fitment and directions were all top notch. Everything was included in the kit and I had the whole shebang put together in about an hour and a half. Getting the nerve to avtually cut the frame took the longest part of it!! Has a nice spot to mount the tail light, concise cuttings and a good finish. I ended up chipping the finish but the plate hides pretty much the whole thing.

I've since added LED plate bolts.

I made a simple aluminum bracket that I attached to the lower portion of the stock fender and mounted the original plate holder to it (cut off the side reflectors).  The trickiest part was shaping around the signal mounts and filling in the gaps.  I used "Mighty Putty"  ;D

Ozzy, Ive had it for about 6000 miles so far, hasnt messed up yet! Pretty bullet proof design and totally worth the money. I would highly recommend. Very affordable, and a really great kit. A few of the other items on the site are kind of pricey like the emissions removal kit, but the instructions are worth the money if your like me and just want a concise diagram and absolute certainty about the work you are about to perform. Fast shipping, I think I got my stuff in like 3 days, and everything came well shipped with plenty of safety packing.  8 [thumbsup]

after getting my exhaust from ryanracing (rodan box) i knew i needed an eliminator for my 1100 tried the evotech unfortunately will not work with rodan box. great product key stays on the side still too close to the stock cannons. reordered the 696 CW eliminator should get that soon. i had one on my 696 i liked the fact that it was far enough away from the cannons so dont burn your hands the few times you need to get in there. i got the servo eliminator with the exhaust. thats y im going 696 not the 1100 CW.

after reading my post it looks like rambling so i will summ up.
evotech well built product will not work rodan box.
i like the CW

THE answer.

I spent a lot of time researching tail chop kits. Initially I purchased the Comp Werkes kit without much thought based on how popular it seemed to be with everyone. What I got was a box with a bunch of thin sheetmetal unpainted with sharp edges. Installed it looked cheap and not very completed.

Needless to say I returned it.

After this I researched and came down to R&G vs Evotech.
As far as price I found the R&G for $150 ad the Evo for ~140 so price was irrelevant.

In the end I went with the R&G kit for a few reasons.

-Build quality was excellent
-I did not like the system evotech used to attach the license plate to the bike (the arms and crap)
-Most Importantly!!
     -R&G's kit mounted the license plate Higher and farther under the back of the bike.

You can see how tightly the plate is mounted underneath the taillight.

Here you can see the roughly 1.5-2" lower mounting height of the evotech.

With the R&G my plate is less than 1/2" from the bottom of the taillight and directly under it. With the evotech kit it's much lower and sticks farther out resulting is a less clean look.

Thanks for all the advice, I went with the Evotech and put it on today, pretty easy to do.  Only snag was the wiring harness was hard to unplug and the seat release cable was a bear to get back in.....  I needed the plate a bit farther back due to the man.   [leo]
