Title: Throttle Tube / I want a new one Post by: R0CKETMAN on June 10, 2010, 05:28:36 AM For my 1100.
I'd like to know some first hand thoughts and what you have used. I like to reduce the "delay" at low speeds and increase the "feel" in general. Thoughts/opinions/ options...thanks for your time RM A few options which surfaced in my search: -Yamaha R1 or R6 tubes respectively -Kyle Racing http://www.oncycles.com/catalog.asp?pn=MCB00185] http://www.oncycles.com/catalog.asp?pn=MCB00185 (http://[url) -G-2 Tamer http://g2ergo.com/shop/catalog/G2-Tamer-Throttle-Tube-for-Ducati-267.html] http://g2ergo.com/shop/catalog/G2-Tamer-Throttle-Tube-for-Ducati-267.html (http://[url) Not interested in Rizo's Title: Re: Throttle Tube / I want a new one Post by: Amlethae on June 10, 2010, 05:57:27 AM I got the G2 Tamer for my 1100 which I still haven't gotten yet... so I've been using it on my 696. The throttle action is smooth as silk... takes some getting used to as the cam on it means the throttle is less effective on the low end till you get up higher, but for riding around the city it's really great.
I think it's a bit overkill for the 696 which didn't have enough low end to begin with, but I certainly plan on using it happily on my 1100 when I finally get it. I talked to G2 about making us Ducati people a cam set so we can choose what settings we want, but it kind of fell by the way-side. EDIT: I wanted to share an email I got from G2 Ergo about other options: Quote The "Domino brand" throttle that comes stock on the Monster shares the same tube as all KTM/Husqvarna 2 stroke dirt bikes, so we have developed MANY cam options that would work to fine tune throttle response. We could offer the following: Cam Details 100 stock 200 10% decreased initial radius 300 15% decreased initial radius 400 20% decreased initial radius 500 30% decreased initial radius (currently used for Ducati Tamer) Thanks, Gary Title: Re: Throttle Tube / I want a new one Post by: Drunken Monkey on June 11, 2010, 12:17:43 PM You can also tackle this from the other "side" of things by getting a different cam for your throttle bodies.
Alas the only one I know of is this one http://www.electraeon.com/throttlecam.html (http://www.electraeon.com/throttlecam.html) but it's for the older bikes and won't fit your 1100. Still, someone out there must make something like this for newer bikes... right? Title: Re: Throttle Tube / I want a new one Post by: Amlethae on June 11, 2010, 01:21:01 PM I have their Ducati labeled "Throttle Tamer" if you want more control/adjustments I'd go with the KTM/Husq option but you might need to contact them about which one exactly. But the straight up Ducati tamer from them works great! You do need to adjust the throttle cable for it, but otherwise it makes the 1100 soo much more controllable at low speed and when you want to crank it, it's right there for you! Totally happy with it!

Title: Re: Throttle Tube / I want a new one Post by: Drunken Monkey on June 12, 2010, 08:20:48 AM I've got one and it's terrific. Opens the throttle progressively so at low openings it's slightly aggressive but once you hit 1/4 turn it's WFO.
Downside: Only fits the older FI bikes Title: Re: Throttle Tube / I want a new one Post by: Raux on June 12, 2010, 10:13:19 AM apparently they have a version for the newer FI bikes.
