Not a lot of info, but ya might want to try a hair dryer to the ignition switch. Clearly something important got wet.

Took out the blow dryer and just went to work on both.  Finally after an hour. it finally started.

Thanks for your replies guys!

Note to self:  Will not ride when weather forecast - 40% or greater chance of rain.

just wondering if it might be something more than water getting on the ignition or gauges. i have ridden in some torrential downpours without issue.

Did you have a foggy instrument cluster? Also, did you blow dry the wiring harness connections as well? if the gauges were not foggy, its possible that your problem was loose wiring. some dialectic grease and a zip tie or two if things are loose will fix it. same goes for the wiring harness to the ignition.

+1 to what Herm said-I thing you have another underlying issue.

Fack-I did a cross country trip in the rain-rain on the bike shouldn't hurt it.

My instrument cluster was not foggy at all.  i did focus more on the connectors though.  im sure it was wet wiring connectors.  i unplugged them blow dry and plugged it back in.  i wasnt really paying attention of the condition of the coonectors if they were loose but I definitely made sure it was nice and tight after blow drying them. started her up this morning with no problem

i would definitely get some dialectic grease in there. then as long as the connections are secure, you should not have to worry about water getting in.
