Step 1)  Admit you're a Bacon Junkie

Step 2)  Admit you're also a Chocoholic

Step 3)  Make your own chocolate covered bacon

Step 4)  Cook at least 1 pound (but probably a lot more) of bacon

Step 5)  While makin' the bacon, melt 1 package semi-sweet morsels in microwave oven

Step 6)  Dip the crispy delicious bacon into the creamy chocolaty goodness

Step 7)  Eat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Step 8 ) Repeat again.

It's not gone, it's been replaced by the pretzel gallery.

I've done this.  Every now and then I'll melt some chocolate and dip everything I can find into it...been doing it for years.  Bacon is delicious dipped in chocolate, but potato chips and those little miniature peanut butter crackers are too.

I wish i could understand the whole bacon thing. I thought i knew what it meant, but it seems to mean a few things here.

Bacon = The Best Thing Ever

So if someone puts a  [bacon] in association with a post, it means they really really like it.

It's a step or two above  [thumbsup] or  [clap]

Probably on par with  [bow_down] or  [drool], but I'm still giving the edge over all to  [bacon].

Of course I tend to be a bit biased...  ;)

Another way the  [bacon] symbol is used by me is when I put it at the end of one of my posts.  I use it sort of like signing my name,  'cuz after all, I am the Bacon Junkie.

Hope this clears up some of the confusion.

/then again, sometimes  [bacon] just means  [bacon].  8)

Bacon could NEVER be used as a replacement for chicken strips, seeing as chicken strips tend to be not a good thing and bacon is the best thing ever.  (see my post)   ;D

Thanks for the  [bacon] [bacon].  For the record, I won't turn down  [beer] either!    ;)

In honor of today's USA game and to send a special treat to a certain someone on this board, I've posted my bacon brownie recipe for the world to enjoy!

Thanks Lu! (I assume this was aimed at me?)   :D

I got lost in the spaetzl and ploughman's, so here ya go...

Bacon Brownie Cupcakes
4 oz unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
2 oz sweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
8 T butter
1 1/2 C sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 C AP Flour
2 T cocoa (not Dutch-processed)
6 strips bacon
Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease a standard muffin pan (we like to use the jumbo but don't recommend mini, they'll get to crispy).
Fry the bacon, remove and pat dry. Reserve your grease for later cooking.
Melt the unsweetened chocolate and butter in a double broiler. Cool slightly, then whisk in the sugar and salt. Add the eggs, one at a time. Sift the flour and cocoa together, then combine with the chocolate. Stir in the pieces of bacon and chocolate.
Bake ~30 min., making sure to allow brownie cupcakes to cool before removing.
