Title: Two thumbs up for Givi A780 on a M696 Post by: Dr. D on June 15, 2010, 12:21:37 AM After much delay I received the Givi A780 windscreen and installed it. Installation was simple. This past Sunday I went to Summit Point Raceway and tried it out. Excellent! [clap] The buffetting around my shoulders is gone, just clean air over the helmet. The bike is naked, so when putting a knee out before a turn I could feel the push. My goal was to eliminate the jostling on the straight and the A780 does that.
Not sure about the Mother Alien look, though. [roll] Title: Re: Two thumbs up for Givi A780 on a M696 Post by: bicunica on June 15, 2010, 03:44:10 AM Any chance for some pics? [drink]

She rode out, but it was a hot, steamy day so she opted to put her bike on the trailer for the trip home. Title: Re: Two thumbs up for Givi A780 on a M696 Post by: causeofkaos on September 10, 2010, 10:41:41 AM i wish i could get a Givi A755N Fairing in hand to see if it would work on the M1100 before comitting the $189 i know its got the round cut out for the old style round head light but i think the curves might work well with the lines on the 696 1100 tank skins.
mounting would be a chalenge i think. I dont know. http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/A755N/Windscreens/A755N.html (http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/A755N/Windscreens/A755N.html) Title: Re: Two thumbs up for Givi A780 on a M696 Post by: Duc796canada on September 10, 2010, 10:48:06 AM Anymore ride review? Whats with the strip of blue tape across the tank panels behind the gas cap? Title: Re: Two thumbs up for Givi A780 on a M696 Post by: sbrguy on September 10, 2010, 05:42:24 PM that isn't a bad look, very mv agusta brutale looking in a way.
maybe if the lower half was painted it would look a little better sorta make it stock looking. Title: Re: Two thumbs up for Givi A780 on a M696 Post by: Duc796canada on September 10, 2010, 11:43:06 PM I see a side steering stabilizer, what kind is that? Someone was asking about one on some forum.
Title: Re: Two thumbs up for Givi A780 on a M696 Post by: Dr. D on September 11, 2010, 04:53:07 PM Blue tape: The track organizer I ride with, Team Pro-Motion, requires a strip of tape with name and shift style (standard, or GP) on the tank. I think most places require this -- makes it easier for the guys showing up if you biff. Damper: Ohlins from Kyle Racing. Works good, though I can't say I have deliberately tested it. [roll] BTW, I was at the NJ Motorsports Park today. Darn, the 696 likes the track! Nice guys. http://www.teampromotion.com/tpm.php (http://www.teampromotion.com/tpm.php) I am in Virginia, just a ways out of DC. A short drive to Summit Point, WV; 4 hours to NJMP. Next year down to VIR (4 hours). Title: Re: Two thumbs up for Givi A780 on a M696 Post by: Frosty2.0 on September 30, 2016, 05:38:11 AM I know it is an old thread. I am looking in buying a used givi windscreen. Will a windshield used for a 696 monster fit a 796 monster? Any instructions on the install? Is it easy or hard? Do I have to remove the dash etc? Thanks!

It looks like the Givi mounts using the 4 handlebar mount bolts... it doesn't even look like you have to pull the handlebars off like I had to with my Gen-X. I would guess it would fit 696/796/1100, but maybe check the Givi website for compatability? |
