:( Well for now Dr.s Say no more riding. I am having some health issues that keep me from riding month to month and it's killing me to see the bike sit. They believe that I have whats called Fibromyalgia, can't spell it but you can sound it out. LOL Anyway, I wake up and can not even get out of bed by myself. I have pain from every joint and muscle in my body. It all started about two months ago and was just shoulder pain, now its all over my body. All we can do right now is test, test, test. X-ray, X-ray and on and on. Different medications each week and it's taking it's toll on me. I will get a bike again, I just have to make it threw this shit first. So I put my 695 up for sale. I will still hang out and be a pest but without a bike. Thanks for all the laughs and tears. :( :'(
Hey man, This is the DMF. Half the people here don't even own Monsters. It's like being a Marine (without the brainwashing. [cheeky] ;D ) Once a Monster owner, always a Monster owner. Except CCeatme69... he was dishonorably discharged.
I'm terribly sorry to hear about your health issues, and you better believe you will be recieving prayers and support from me. Keep us posted on your healing, and harass us as necessary. [thumbsup]
I'm sorry to hear that. :( I hope you feel better soon. ((hugs))
Sorry to hear about your condition...that really sucks.
Don't worry about not having a Monster...lots don't (like me). [thumbsup]
Sorry to hear about the illness. Keep us posted how it goes.
mitt
crap.
lms niece has the same condition.... there is a whole lot of suck involved. positive thoughts and well wishes sent.
That is a shame about the Monster but health comes first...
Make sure they test you for Lyme disease as well as everything else...good luck and I hope you realize a good outcome of all this
Once a hooligan always a hooligan! Stick around
PM lethe, he has fibromyalgia and might have something useful for you to go on.

+1
I've been sans Monster for two years. Life goes on - no valve checks! ;)
There'll be other bikes. Tend to the important stuff for now. Best wishes. [thumbsup]
Wow :( No Monster does not mean leave the board. This is a great place for support and expertize for more than moto issues.
Here's to a quick, complete recovery [beer]
Although I've owned 6+ Monsters and about a dozen other Duc's... I'm currently Duc-less too (I've got enough pieces parts to build a small fleet, but...nothing 'up & running').
Please hang out, please contribute, please let us know if there's anything we can do...
This is the DMF afterall...
Shit, I've never owned a monster, any Duc at all come to think of it. And I'm still here. Suckas. ;D

I've been really good lately for some reason, just minor symptoms.
Hang on to the bike, if you're lucky it will swing back and forth and you can enjoy it when you're feeling decent.
And even when you're not feeling too hot, it's still nice to look at. [thumbsup]
Just be careful, if you're like me and the brain decides to kinda shut down at random times, it will tend to be mid corner. :P
Also, there is little to nothing that they'll find in Xrays if it is fibromyalgia as it's your nervous system flipping out. Pain is one thing but I find one of the most annoying things to be the electric shock like tingling that randomly shows up. If you get that, cold helps out. I've driven home in the dead of winter with the fan on full blast and the windows open and it made it go away.
i'm sorry to hear about your illness :(
i hope you recover quickly
My wife has had Fibromyalgia for the past 20+ years. It can be a horribly painful and debilitating disease. Hope they find that you just have rabies, or something easy like that. j/k
Seriously, you should be tested for Lyme disease. It has nearly the same symptoms, and this is the time of year when it appears.
Good luck. I'll hoist my next malted beverage to you.
Sorry to hear Lam.
No more riding for the time being but you could always fit the Newfie with a sidecar! ;)
I am sorry to hear about the health issues, I wish you the best of luck getting this managed with the minimum amount of fuss. If you have to sell, I think it is a good idea to start shopping for the next bike - give yourself a goal, and something to look forward to [thumbsup]
Hope you get your Medical issues sorted.
I'm another Ex Duc owner, But I still hang around, interjecting, annoying everyone and throwing in my $0.02 worth.
And they still keep letting me come back, So I'm going to keep on coming back [thumbsup]
It's a great bunch or Ladies and Gents on this Forum :)
F#@k it. Find another doctor! [laugh] My neighbor had to sell his Harley cruiser recently due to heart surgery and they put him on a lifelong Rx of blood thinners. Word was get rid of everything you could hurt yourself with. They said if he crashed his bike and started to bleed he might not make it until the EMS techs got there. He is super bummed out as I am sure you are.
When I crushed four vertebrae in my neck in May 2007 the neurosurgeon told me to never ride again, get rid of all of my bikes. I just gave him a look. My wife knew what that look meant. [bang] She wasn't (isn't!) happy but I am! [moto] Yeah, it hurts like hell all the time. Screw it, I keep Advil in the black. Funny... it always seems to feel better when I'm riding! ;D
Sorry for your woes. More importantly I hope you get to felling better. So much so that you are up on two wheels again ASAP! [clap] Hang in there bro'!!

Thank for the advice, I so like to look at the bike but shit it just makes me even more pissed off that I can't ride. LOL Yes Xrays do nothing and they show jack shit. So now its on to more blood work and MRI and other scans. No Fibro can not be found but dam does it have to hurt so Much. LOL Yes the ice packs help but so does heat. Thanks again and I am sure I will be asking you more questions as time passes. And thanks all again for your support and love. Now I know why I come here. LOVE YOU All
Damn. I'm really sorry to hear about this and wish you a swift recovery. I hope it's something else and that it goes away soon.
Let me know if you're in the mood for any tasty treats that would cheer you up, bacon or non-bacon related.
My mom lives with fibromyalgia. I know it kept her back for a while but through vitamins and other methods she is way more active again. My mom is 62 now and does competitive horse cutting. Not sure if you know what that is but it is pretty physical. I know she has a book about living with fibromyalgia that has helped her. I will find out the title tomorrow.
Don't let this keep you from doing what you want to do. Just find a way to live with it. Easier said than done, but hang in there and be positive.
Wish you the best of luck, and please stick around!
I know how crappy it is to have to consider selling. I'm still trying to make that decision right now. I can't hardly ride anymore (no more than 20 minutes at a time, without stopping from the pain in my hands), but I can't bring myself to get ride of my 620. It's like a child....a expensive, tempermental child...I guess thats just like real children [laugh]
wow. sorry to hear about your situation, but take care of your health.
+1 on getting a second opinion. medications vary, so your doctors need to find a balance that works for you.
hang out. there are so many characters here. some of them are amusing, helpful, or just lurking.
be well.
