I finally took the plunge. I'm waiting on my new (to me) Ducati to arrive from DucPond next week. After much deliberation and a few rides, I decide on the Multistrada instead of the Monster, hopefully that won't disqualify me from this forum, you guys run a top notch site here.
So now my question: I've been riding a 1972 CB750Four for about a dozen years now. I suspect the MTS will be a wee bit different. So I thought it would be a good time for a refresher safety / riding class. I do mostly urban commuting, with the occasional longer ride. I don't have any interest or intention to take the bike to the track or off road. Can you recommend any good local courses for that type of riding? Closer to the Baltimore area would be preferred.
Thanks in advance.
look for someone/someplace teaching "Total Control" which is a course designed by Lee Parks. The other option is to look into the MSF's ERC course. Both are the next level above basic and require you to use your own machine and both will give you a good handle on the nature and the capability of your new bike. Both are also a good bridge of exercises that aren't track level training, but are real world usage ability exercises.
Congrats on the new bike Kaz!! [thumbsup]
I have a feeling that I will be wanting one of the new MTS if/when I test ride one.
Doesn't meet the MD hopes, but there's Apex

- and which flavor of Multi? Please say it's a 1200.. I'm assuming it is since you're waiting. I had a soft spot for the older multi.. until I rode the new one. Now.. old Multi, YOU'RE DEAD TO ME! The new one is niiiice

Who said modern men are scared of commitment?
I did my basic and advanced with Motorcycle Riding Concepts (MRC). Instructors are Fairfax county bike cops. I think they've got some MD gigs, though.
