The Monster 796 just arrived today, but the only catch is that Ducati 3.99%/4.5% interest rates don't apply to this bike because it is a 2011 model. For tier one credit the local dealer said 9%.
I guess if your in the market for the M796, Cash is King!!

Freedom Road who is the lender Ducati is using for the low rate finance offer also offers tier 1 financing on other models at 6.99% for 60 months.
Dave, i brought that up to the dealer but they told me that it 6.99% was last months offer and that it has expired.
Im going to hit up another dealer tomorrow.

The last monster program was in January, ended in Mar and it was a 2.99%/60mo offer called "created naked"..
I think either encourage your dealer to look a little harder or as you suggest maybe go somewhere else.. ???
How much for a M796?
Dave, I will definitely look into that.
Slyfox, M796 msrp $10k
going to go look at one tomorrow.

I'm hoping to take one for a test ride tomorrow.
Poseur, let us know how your test drive goes.

I took it out for about 15 minutes. Some twisty roads and some freeway.
I
love this bike and will
definitely be getting one with ABS.
Super comfortable riding position.
My only complaint is about the display, which is difficult to read,
but then again maybe I just have to get used to it.
My only other experience riding a Ducati was my Monster 695 a few years ago.
This 796 is in a different league. Really, really a great bike and more importantly, the perfect bike for me.

Slow down and see if that helps. ;D

I had it up to about 85 without even realizing it. The speed display is pretty tiny. These displays are back-lit, right? It will probably be easier to read in the dark in that case.

You can adjust the brightness of the display. I have no problem reading mine. [beer]
Just don't look at it, look at the road instead!

You're absolutely right, however, if you're going to have a display, might as well do it right. Is there any way to adjust the angle of the display? Being 6' tall, I find I have to tilt my head down to read it, but it would be nice if I could just look down with my eyes instead.
with my 696, once I spray painted the inside of the fairing black, it made reading the display a lot easier. FYI, I'm 6'1", and yes, I have to glance down to see the display.

Great idea! I can see how that would work because the reflections and shadows were definitely part of the problem.
Went by to see the 796 yesterday. My dealer decided to not bring it in as a demo, so this one is for sale.
observations without riding it. The seat is much more comfortable than my 696. Wider rear tire, like the rims with stripes, SSS, different bar + added riser. plenty more blacked out bits.
