Title: CairnsDuc's Ex S2R is the BOMB! Post by: CairnsDuc on June 27, 2010, 11:45:57 AM My (ex) S2R 800 is Bike Of the Moment Baby!
Sadly the new owner does not appear to be a member of the Forum, I did suggest he join up. I would like to know how he is enjoying my former pride and joy. And the Reason for the Sale, The big move to Tasmania (Land of the Yellow Meanie) is only a couple of more weeks away, as much I was sad to see the mighty Monster gone, I am looking forward to my next big adventure, And with so many roads both Paved and unpaved in Tassie, a MultiStrada may be on the Horizon. I might be stuck in a cage for the time being, but this I guarantee...... it will not be long before a 2 wheeled machine is hauling my ass around again! When you come this way we should organized a meet up somewhere, would be great to have a face to the name Title: Re: CairnsDuc's Ex S2R is the BOMB! Post by: CairnsDuc on June 27, 2010, 12:08:25 PM I was intending to drop everyone a line once the bride and I were in and settled.
The wife is actually going to be in Launceston on Friday night, she is flying down to meet some prospective employers, fly in 7pm Friday and then fly back out 2pm on Saturday. not even 24 hours, she would have loved to have stayed a day or 2 and looked around, but she is doing her final End of Financial year for her current employer and is training her replacement so she is very pressed for time. This is my last week of Employment here in Cairns, mind you 12 hours a week as a permanent part timer is hardly worth the effort, but at least my wage pays the rent for the week. I do 4 hours today, 4 hours on Friday and Saturday. And then I am unemployed for only the 2nd time in my 17 or so years since leaving school. And I can hardly wait! ;D Title: Re: CairnsDuc's Ex S2R is the BOMB! Post by: Betty on June 27, 2010, 02:55:10 PM Although it is a bit late, congrats on getting the bike up as BOMB [thumbsup]
Woohoo for the S2Rs! Hey CairnsDuc When you come this way we should organized a meet up somewhere, would be great to have a face to the name I think she was trying to ask if you will making any visit/stops on your road trip south? Title: Re: CairnsDuc's Ex S2R is the BOMB! Post by: CairnsDuc on June 27, 2010, 08:02:17 PM I figured as much, We intend after we make the move to regularly go back to the main land and visit
all these places we have never been to, we have some Relatives to visit in Adelaide, I have never been to Sydney and only a brief 2 day stop in Melbourne, and we figure since we are now down at this end of the pool, might as well have a look around and try my best to say hello to all these people I chat to but have never seen in the flesh. I wasn't intending to call in and see anyone on the way down, mainly because I have to go from Cairns to Melbourne in 4 days to catch the Spirit on the 22nd of July (3500k's) so my time is pretty tight. with 800k's per day to do and I intend to not rush the drive, it will leave me little time for much else. Although I should be arriving in Melbourne by late arvo on the 22nd, and ship does not sail until 9. So if anyone is out and about? Title: Re: CairnsDuc's Ex S2R is the BOMB! Post by: Yellow Meanie on June 29, 2010, 03:12:43 AM What? Go back to the mainland?
You mustn't have heard - As soon as you move to Tasmania, your Australian passport is revoked... [laugh] Title: Re: CairnsDuc's Ex S2R is the BOMB! Post by: CairnsDuc on June 29, 2010, 06:15:53 PM I only thought the Customs stop was to check for fruit and Vegies, and to get the 2nd head implanted?!?!
(Ducks for Cover) ;) But seriously, if anyone is in Melbourne on the 22nd of July in the Late arvo over towards the Spirit of Tasmania docks way (Or somewhere near by) I would love to meet up with anyone to say hello. Also if anyone is close along the way down Highway 39 (Inland road) I would love to stop for a break and say hello, I may not be able to stay for long, but stop for a Coffee or a non alcoholic beverage. :) This is my grand travel plan: Cairns to Mackay 19th of July Mackay to Miles 20th of July Miles to Parkes 21st of July Parkes to Melbourne 22nd of July Title: Re: CairnsDuc's Ex S2R is the BOMB! Post by: CairnsDuc on June 30, 2010, 01:56:56 PM No worries Heather, I would have loved to have had more time, So I could call in at some of the bigger locations along the
way and meet a lot of the wonderful people who have helped me out with such wonderful advice and Information. But Alas it was not to be. |
