but otherwise interested. whats there to do? Is it a track day with good stuff? or is it good stuff that has an open track day? Title: Re: Ducati Revs New Jersey Post by: Grrrly on July 02, 2010, 02:40:11 AM damn thats stoopid expensive!
~$100 more per day than a regular trackday. are the instructors all from Penguin? then maybe it would be worth it...... I guess. Title: Re: Ducati Revs New Jersey Post by: Violajj on August 03, 2010, 05:29:41 PM It is a Penguin School so it will be Penguin instructors. Pricing is the same as a regular penguin school. Also, Larry Pegram will be a guest instructor both days. Team DNA and Team Celtic will be there as well. There will be a number of vendors contributing to the prize pool - The track is throwing in some AMA tickets, Dunlop some tires, there will be clothing and gear from other vendors etc.. It is all together with the Penguin School.

Title: Re: Ducati Revs New Jersey Post by: Violajj on August 04, 2010, 06:39:46 AM GLantern - I am glad you are out on the track and enjoying their program. I have not been to one of their days (yet), but I am happy you like their program and am sure it is a good one. Everybody seems to structure prices differently. Absolute has a different model with the membership and sales of other products tied in on the site with track days, which I am sure works for them as they have a busy schedule at NJMP. In the end all the schools have to pay the track rental and for the support equipment and personne etc..l. If we want the schools around we need support them- which we do!
I admit I am biased toward Penguin as I started out with the LRRS many years ago and went through the Penguin school for my race license and because of my ties with Ducati am helping them on the New Jersey event. I think they offer a great program. Everybody has a different sense of value and what is expensive; I was always pleased with Penguin, as many others, and see the value they bring. However, there certainly is a need for more than one school and having choices is good thing. I am sure you will agree track days/schools are a great time and I always tell motorcyclists who have not been on the track to find a way as they are missing a great time. I always leave with a big smile! regards- Jim Title: Re: Ducati Revs New Jersey Post by: GLantern on August 04, 2010, 08:05:35 AM I'm sure penguin runs a great school and day and as you are biased to them i am biased to Absolute. I ran my first day with them last year and the one time i tried a day with someone else it just made me appreciate absolute that much more. I have heard good things about penguin and if this even gets more Ducatista riding their bikes like they are meant to be ridden then more power to them! I have payed for a membership with absolute so i spent a good deal for them already which means i won't attend the penguin event but if i had the extra $$ right now i would :)
