the clutch pull is much firmer (and difficult for her) on my GF's 2000 900ie than on my 2001.
I've noticed the stock clutch slaves are different units on these bikes. My 2001 also has 80,000 more km's on it than hers. The only other difference is pazzo levers on her bike.
I'm thinking of an aftermarket clutch slave for hers with the hopes that it may help things.
Any thoughts on the issue would be appreciated? Thanks
You could pull two springs off the pressure plate as well.

+1
Also, are the Pazzo shorty levers?
Aftermarket slaves help. But not as much as pulling two springs does.

yes.........shorty levers.
I will definitely try the spring idea.

Less lever length...less leverage. ;)
I'd swap them for full length levers also.

that makes total sense..........guess the gf gets my beat up stock levers and I get her nice shorty pazzo levers .........the sacrifices I make for love

what a guy...
Newer style slave cylinder has a larger bore so lever effort is lower. Also, in my experience the newer designs are better constructed.
BUT, the newer style uses a longer push rod so it's not a bolt on swap w/o changing the rod as well. A/M slave is your better option here... Or you could pull 2x springs. ;)
thanks for all the suggestions................much appreciated.
I'm pretty cheap, but I'm thinking about grabbing a couple of new slave cylinders for both bikes as mine leaks a tiny bit and I've wanted to get one for awhile.
If I remove two springs from hers, I assume taking out two opposing springs is best?
When I picked up my 999 it had an aftermarket slave on the clutch... crikeys, what a difference that makes... much easier in stop and go.... [thumbsup]
Yes, remove 2 opposing springs.
thanks to all.
