I don't need a big power bump, I just want great sound and looks, and the reduced heat of CF pipes.  It seems there is a "you are Termi or you are nothing" vibe in some threads....

If you could start at stock like me, is this the best way to go?  I think the ECU being tuned for slip ons by Ducati would be great, I just don't know.   [bang]

Oh, and I want plug and play--no dyno stuff or anything.....  Is "just" slip ons like Arrow CF going to be just as good in some respects?

Don't go to war over this, I just don't know which way to go.

I guess I should also mention that if I go the Arrow route, that I will get a steering damper (GPR) with the extra cash....  That is what I am trying to decide on.

if you just get the slipons and dont change the airfilter out, you should be ok. and any pipe will work. doesn't have to be a highend pipe. i ended up with Roads Italia. and personally i think the steering damper is well worth giving up the Termis for.

I just wanted to get rid of the udder and ended up spending $2100 on CF arrow full system, new ECU, and beast-r intake. How quickly that got out of control!! After i install this stuff, my mechanic will hook it up to VDST and fine tune for me. My total cost for this setup will be around $2300.

Some people have cored their own cans and custom painted them. They look nice and sound good too. Do it for cheap too.

You can get slip ons, and later down the road, upgrade to the full system if you choose.

Correct me if i am wrong but:
1 Slip ons
2 Mid/Header pipe
3 High flow intake.

Changing one of these, you should be able to plug and play to some degree. Changing 2 or more requires an ECU remap.

*I think you can get an arrow full system with the fatduc manipulator (if you have the sensor) and not have to get a new ECU.


Only problem with tuning the ECU for slip ons is that if you decide to go full system later, you need to remap the ECU again.

he has a M1100 so things are a bit different.
there are three stages for the system
1- stock: catalytic convertors, standard diameter, standard filter, standard ECU, (2) O2 sensors, closed airbox cover, flapper valve is in standard form
2- Termi level 1: standard diameter, highflow filter, upgraded ECU, (2) o2 sensors, opened airbox cover, computer opens up flapper valve more
3- Termi level 2: larger diameter, highflow filter, upgraded ECU, (2) o2 Sensors, opened airbox cover, computer turns off flapper valve error since it's removed with this system

some key things of the M1100
-any slipons remove the catalytic convertors right away so there is more advantage to just changing them out as compared to older monsters.
-the midpipe change (say to a 696 midpipe) only involves removing the flapper valve but needs a duc.EE to compensate or you'll get a computer error.
-in reality only changing out to a high flow air filter and modding the intake either by cutting it or getting the DP pre-cut one would need fueling changes or ECU changes. this is because only this one leans out the bike more thereby making it bad unless you add more fuel.

for the ECU no one but Rexxer is changing the stock ECU to other maps. And no one I know has tried Rexxer. so all changes to fueling can only be done with a Termi ECU, powercommander V, two Brothers juice box or the like.

Yikes, sounds like Ducati is really trying to give termi exclusive rights even more than previously. 2 o2 sensors, flapper valves, and computer errors in the cluster... Craziness i tell ya. Give it some time i guess. More options will be available down the road im sure.

Could be used in conjunction with any slipons for a more cost effective option to the entire Termi kit (or if you just prefer the look/sound of slipons other than Termis).
