Title: Rear stand help
Post by: PhoenixS4R on July 06, 2010, 06:20:17 PM
I purchased a rear stand for my S4R.  The ad did not say it would fit an S4R, but a 996.  For the price I figured I'd just buy it. I didn't get to test it as my bike was in the shop getting the valves serviced.

Anywho, when I went to install my frame sliders this weekend, I used it for the first time.  I'm not sure if this is the wrong stand for the monster or if they're all this way, can someone give some input? I'd imagine that I bought the wrong stand....

If you look at the tip of my finger you'll see a black line. This marks how deep the stand can go into the swing arm.  I'm guessing no bueno?

Thanks for the input.

Likely that stand is designed to fit several bikes.  I did a Google search, and found this for one brand, "Single Sided Swingarm Stand, Ducati - ALL (except 1098, 1198, Streetfighter)".  So if yours works, call it good!
