Title: Pinched fuel line?
Post by: Mike Qube on July 08, 2010, 05:51:27 AM
Last night I replaced my fuel filter, this morning after riding for about 2 miles it started sputtering and stalled. I restarted, and it sputtered and stalled again, this went on for about 3 blocks. I pull over lift the tank and notice the fuel line is taking kind of an extreme angle. I move the line and start the bike, I make it the 3 more miles to work. The only off thing I noticed was the my idle rpm's were a bit higher than normal. If the old filter was clogged and now there's a good flow, I'm assuming that the hose angle would cause the sputtering/stalling and now a good fuel flow with a clean filter makes the rpm's higher than  I'm used to?

actually sounds like your still pinching the line a bit. Increased RPM's is usually an indicator of a lean condition. Was the bike "breaking up" at higher rpm's? Take a few mins to re-route the lines. They always seem to pinch when putting the tank on/down.
