Title: Re: Ducati performance carbon fiber Post by: muskrat on July 08, 2010, 06:11:37 PM IMO it sucks for the price ;D Like most carbon it will fade so I ended up sanding down my carbon stuff and re-shooting with automotive clear.....now it looks the tits.
Title: Re: Ducati performance carbon fiber Post by: kopfjäger on July 08, 2010, 06:19:37 PM You should clean up and properly clear all CF. Ask dp. ;)
Title: Re: Ducati performance carbon fiber Post by: battlecry on July 09, 2010, 01:27:04 AM Quality was spotty for me. The beertray was the worst. The epoxied bolts were not at uniform height and the holes needed a rattail file to match. The superbike front fender was great. The bottom chin spoiler needed fitting (dremelling), as did other parts.
Title: Re: Ducati performance carbon fiber Post by: jmoth79 on July 09, 2010, 02:12:36 AM So what is the best quality carbon out there?
Title: Re: Ducati performance carbon fiber Post by: Mojo S2R on July 09, 2010, 03:19:13 AM No FHE though I've heard Riding-House may be the best quality but you're paying out the nose for their parts plus shipping from Japan.
I've been happy with my ShiftTech parts which I purchased from Monsterparts and the parts I ordered from Carbonworld on ebay have also been nice. The parts I purchased from O2Carbon and Carbon Performance on ebay looked good but I had to do some dremel work to get them to fit properly. Also happy with my Dariuslab parts though the resin may have been put on just a little thick, besides he no longer makes parts except for personal use or friends. I think the DP parts are a bit pricey though I purchased a few when I got the bike and the resin/epoxy was spotty on the seat cowl. I plan on doing like kopfjäger and muskrat mention and having all my CF reshot with UV protective clear including the Termi cans on which the resin is practically nonexistent. They recognized the issues they were having by using several suppliers (who apparently didn't coordinate together). The parts made in the last year seem to follow a new trend - hopefully they'll keep that up.
