no one watched? Rea in race one made it look easy. Go Ruben....first podium in a while. Nori finished 5th...twice. Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: tufty on July 12, 2010, 04:27:19 AM Rea in race one made it look easy. Definitely, he and Max are the two smoothest riders on the grid. I felt bad for Cal and Leon both getting bum tyres. I wonder why the Suzukis are struggling at the moment? Leon's wife looked hot in her umbrella girl outfit though!! Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: Spidey on July 12, 2010, 05:49:49 AM I said it last time, but I'm getting sick of that Aprilia.
Anyone watch Toseland? Brilliant riding, 'cept for that go-to-last-on-the-grid thing at the start. Poor Smrz. Not unexpected, given that it's a brand new bike to him with a brand new tire compound. But still, it's his home race. Yamaha needs to get its shit sorted out. Give Rea the factory Duc. I didn't realize until listening to the commentary that Haslam's Suzuki wasn't getting factory support. WTF? He was leading the championship for nearly half the year. Why wouldn't they put money into development? Thumbs up to RLH. He's starting to get it together, though you can't tell from his grid position. Man, I know everyone kept talking about his machine was down on other machines and how they were on a shoe-string budget. But then I read an article recently about how little $ they have. The team is comprised of a family -- dad is the mechanic, mom cooks the meals and the brother is his crew chief (well, "kinda" in RLH's words). Wow. Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) sure was fun watching xaus look like his old self in race 1. no surprise of course that that ate up the tires. the suzuki has always been sorta-but-not-really factory Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Both companies are being carried solely on rider talent seemingly. It must be frustrating as hell for Leon Haslam he was so close... I wonder what he'll be doing next year. Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: gm2 on July 12, 2010, 10:12:52 AM the kawi literbike is about to be re-launched in a big way
Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: zooom on July 12, 2010, 10:17:46 AM on the Suzuki thing...it used to be, 'Zuke would come out with an update or newer bike every 2 years for a while there....the current GSXR1000 (K9?) is 2 years old now and is just a basic update from the previous K8 generation....and not a peep about anything new out of Japan on that machine, especially since they said that the US wasn't getting 2010 vehicles due to $$$ shortfalls in the economy and blah blah blah....so is it that they will now start to move on an update/upgrade since Kawi has come forward with a new machine?!?!?...and from there, Batta and Yoshimura and all the developers will go to town building hot parts for these machines...
Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: Triple J on July 12, 2010, 12:10:01 PM Give Rea the factory Duc. +1 Give RLH the second one and see what he can do next year. :) Haga and Fabrizio need to go. While I'd like to see good racing at the front, at least it is Biaggi running away with it. I like him...and the Ape is one bad mofo of a bike! Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: Cider on July 14, 2010, 05:41:02 PM Hasn't Kawasaki made big promises about huge changes in the past? Maybe I'm dreaming it, but it seems like I've heard this story before. I hope it's true this time.

the promise of the 2011 bike is how they got the mole to sign up. ...nevermind that the 2010 bike nearly killed him in the interim. Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: zooom on July 15, 2010, 05:09:13 AM as i was saying... ;) the promise of the 2011 bike is how they got the mole to sign up. that is the same promise that was plead to Roger Lee Hayden as well...he was told to use this season to learn the tracks and prepare for next year.... Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: swampduc on July 15, 2010, 08:49:13 AM Hasn't Kawasaki made big promises about huge changes in the past? Maybe I'm dreaming it, but it seems like I've heard this story before. I hope it's true this time. Check out the new issue of Motorcyclist. If it happens, the new Kawa sounds pretty impressive.Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: Spidey on July 15, 2010, 08:59:47 AM That just seems weird. Even if the 2011 Kawi is killer, they'll need almost a full season to get data for the bike, work on the electronics and dial it in. So it's really a three year process. 2010 on a shitty bike, 2011 on a--hopefully--good but new bike and 2012 on a developed bike.
And don't come back and say how the new R1 won last year in its first year. The Ben won last year despite the development problems with that bike. Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: Triple J on July 15, 2010, 09:32:01 AM Biaggi did pretty well in the first year of the RSV4. He didn't win...but he did WAY better than any KAWI has recently!
Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: Spidey on July 15, 2010, 09:40:46 AM Yeah, but that priller was still struggling with development issues last year despite being pretty damn amazing out of the box. Like you'd expect, this year (the second year) they have it sorted out and it's kickin' ass (<yawn>). And Aprilia probably has a better race development team than Kawi b/c of all their GP work despite the fact that Kawi is much larger.
Maybe the fact that the Kawi is a new generation rather than a new model entirely will speed up the development of the race bike? But I'd bet that it won't really be developed until 2012. Title: Re: 2010 WSBK RND 10 Brno (spoilers!) Post by: gm2 on July 15, 2010, 10:02:48 AM And don't come back and say how the new R1 won last year in its first year. The Ben won last year despite the development problems with that bike. he was faster than nearly everyone on day 0, riding haga's 2008 bike. ;D kawi.. it ought to be evolution for them as far as race dev. ..not that that they don't have a lot of ground to cover in the race dev dept.
