Title: Fork Preload Adjuster Knobs - Let's see what you got Post by: Mojo S2R on July 12, 2010, 01:28:50 AM I'm in the process of getting my forks upgraded to Adjustable Showas and was thinking about getting some nice Preload Adjuster Knobs. I like the DP Showa Fork Adjusters that Motowheels carries and there was another set of billet adjusters with CF insets that I remember seeing but can't seem to find.
Post some pix of your adjusters. Maybe I can find those ones with the CF or find something I like better than the two I've mentioned. Thanks. Title: Re: Fork Preload Adjuster Knobs - Let's see what you got Post by: corey on July 12, 2010, 03:46:01 AM I've got these guys from Slingshot Racing.
They're small, simple looking, and just enough in my opinion. I don't like TOO much bling. You would use an actual wrench to change preload rather than those little knobs, lest you like the aggravation of turning against a heavy spring with little leverage.
(i got gold ones) (https://lh5.ggpht.com/_4iYlZ1m8UEM/SraU2hRMdwI/AAAAAAAAEDo/zFrx2NY1GMU/s800/IMG_1590.JPG) Title: Re: Fork Preload Adjuster Knobs - Let's see what you got Post by: Mojo S2R on July 12, 2010, 06:06:54 PM Preload adjusters are pure bling though. Then why.... oh never mind I get it, pure bling huh? So do you have to take them off to actually make adjustments? Talk about bling. What are those 24 karat gold dipped? Sag is kind of a set-it and forget-it for me. If I was going to the track, hardcore, I might find myself making more subsequent adjustments to preload...BUT... those guys use sockets. (and rear ride height is the adjustment you mess with the most on the SSS bikes so making that easier would be higher priority). Hey, just noticed that I have my garage door opener setup the same as you. When I go home again I have a CF cover to put between the top triple and gauges similar to yours. I may move the remote to the same spot where you have that ducati ball as I am going to move my windscreen as close to the guages as possible and I may not be able to reach the remote as I have a taller windshield than you do. I now have a transmitter in my headlight bucket. (http://www.bellissimoto.com/images/253315091216_big.jpg) But they are not the ones I was looking for. They are a different shape. I think I am going to go with these available through MotoWheels: (http://www.motowheels.com/italian/images%5Clg273461744.jpg) Haven't fully decided yet and still have to verify the size I need.
