Here is a place we can all talk track dribble[thumbsup]

Ok here is some information about Sydneys main race track,For those that may be interested [moto]

Eastern Creek Raceway

Eastern Creek Raceway’s surface is constructed of hot mix bitumen laid in one continuous length. The main straight is 15 metres in width; the remainder of the circuit is 12 metres wide and flows through landscaped hills. Clear run off areas exist for maximum competitor safety.

Road racing is in an anti–clockwise direction, a variety of bends, curves, turns and straights present cornering and braking challenges. V8 Supercars reach 260 kph on the main straight and take turn 1 at 200 kph.

Track Length: 3.43 kms
Track Direction: Anti-Clockwise
Track Records: 1.30.359 (500cc), 1.32.084 (250cc), 1.36.272 (125cc), 1:32.735 (Superbike), 1:35.589 (Supersport), 1:41.962 (Superstock), 1:41.32 (250cc Prod)

Located 40 kms west of the central business district of Sydney on Brabham Drive in the suburb Eastern Creek, the Eastern Creek International Raceway is a 40 minute drive from the city or airport.

* Traveling from the city approach via the M4 Motorway, take the Reservoir road exit to the Great Western Highway, turn left onto Great Western Highway then left into Brabham Drive. ( Shell service station on corner)

* Traveling from west of Blacktown approach via M4 Motorway, take the Wallgrove Road exit, turn left onto Wallgrove Road, turn right onto the Great Western Highway, turn right into Brabham Drive ( Shell service station on corner)

Hey Doc,

You should do this for Philip Island as well and we should do a trip down there as the PI track is great.

I am sure the DDRR would love the place  [moto]

As to eastern creek I now have a few stats form the 1098s I was following in session 3 - just before you got there.

258 down the straight - 186 on corner 1 and 1:58 round the track with one lap at 1:55. [cheeky]

During this time, the Placetac Group have increased in size significantly and now employs in the vicinity of 35 permanent and part time employees.
The Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and the Superbike World Championship have attracted a vast international television audience and the events are watched live in over 120 countries worldwide.

Track Direction: Anti-Clockwise
Track Records: 1:32.233 (500cc GP), 1:33.556 (250cc GP), 1:37.983 (125cc GP), 1:33.019 (Superbike), 1:36.642 (Supersport), 1:43.290 (Superstock), 1:44.93 (250cc Prod)
How to get there:
128km by road South-east via Monash Freeway, take the South Gippsland Highway to San Remo, then cross the bridge to Phillip Island.

I have never been on the creek so i wouldnt know what times id be doing  ???

Oran Park is a multi-faceted faclity, and includes a number of separate tracks and a driver training facility.

Oran Park boasts the famous Grand Prix circuit, which is a challenging figure-8 layout, with a combination of fast sweepers and tight, technical corners.

The Grand Prix Circuit is able to be split up and used concurrently as South and North Circuits. The South Cicuit incorporates the long straight, while the North Circuit incorporates the figure-8 section of the track and is a short and challenging track.

Track Length: 2.7 kms
Track Direction: Anti-Clockwise
Track Records: 1.10.2005 (Superbikes), 1.10.8232 (Formula Xtreme)
How to get there:
From Sydney head down towards Canberra via the M5, take Narellan exit

I think PI would be great - It looks a much faster track - EC is shorter and curvy whereas PI is much faster (and longer) - I have on down PI on the Playstation though  [laugh] [cheeky]

I am in for a track day at PI though - Fly down and use the ride bikes and then take the DDRR there when you get a chance. Would be fun though.... [cheeky]
