Title: M696 rattling sound
Post by: schulrog on July 12, 2010, 07:28:00 PM
Just got a new 2010 M696 and had it for about a week. however, today I started her up and noticed a rattling sound coming from the around where the engine is. when i pull the clutch the rattling goes away but the RPM's are the same. Any ideas?

That's my vote. Tis fine unless shifting becomes a problem. I have the same experience on my '09 696.

You'll discover all kinds of new noises along the way. I just discovered, after 6600 miles, a whistling/whining sound coming from my engine on deceleration... but I only hear it when I have a specific set of earplugs in (must be a frequency thing).

Congrats on the new bike!

Hey, I have a similar rattling on my 09, but I've noticed that the rattling happens only with the kickstand down (neutral and or clutch in), I'm guessing it needs some tightening.  Might be somehting for you to check out.
