Hey guys,
I have a quick question for anyone here with experience in welding. I'm looking to do a custom exhaust on my S4Rt and I want to use the header from my Termi system as a base. The issue is that the header and the mid pipe I want to use is stainless and the end can is Titanium. Can the stainless and titanium be welded together?
Thanks,
'Mash
I asked my brother and got the same answer.
you could get it to stick, but it would crack. especially since its connected to the engine and it has to take alot of vibration.
Aside from that, i thought Ti cans only had the sleeve in Ti. the rest is just stainless....
Hmmm... I hope thats the case because if the inlet is stainless that will make it so much easier.
Or, I found another option for the end can so we'll see how it play out.
Thanks for the responses guys! [thumbsup]
Why would you want to weld the can to the pipes
Use some springs to hold the pipe and can like i did with my Akra

Because it's tough to find the exact diameter midpipe to fit so it's easier in this case to cut off the inlet and weld the midpipe right to the can.
The exhaust will be removable from where it meets the header.
tube expander, if you don't have access to one then any exhaust shop worth their salt can do this in about 30 seconds.
