QuoteMan charged for attack on lawnmower

By: Steve Schulz, Wadena Pioneer Journal

A Wadena man faces a first-degree burglary charge for an angry confrontation with a neighbor's unattended push lawnmower.

A homeowner and two other people observed a neighbor, later identified as Rodger Allan Nauertz, enter the man's unoccupied garage through an overhead door and damage a push lawn mower inside.

According to court documents, Nauertz was yelling at the lawnmower, throwing it around back and forth and smashing it into the concrete floor. He then left and went back to his residence, where he sat down in a lawn chair.

Police interviewed Nauertz, who allegedly told them that he has a mental condition and “sometimes he does things.” He admitted damaging the lawnmower, court documents said.

Oh yeah, there are some loonies in my hometown.

After 9/11, my neighbor in Gilbert lost his job.  The mailman stuffing the mailbox too full set him off.  Apparently, he couldn't get his mail out so he went home, got a crowbar and beat the h*ll out of it.  Unfortunately for him, it was a community mailbox. The police arrested him and the FBI were called in to investigate it and question everyone in the neighborhood.

He might throw a sweep kick on you, but it has been a few years.

Sounds like the neighbor might have a slight case of a mental disorder or just off his rocker

I misread the article and thought the guy got arrested for smashing his own lawn mower. I thought, "If breaking your own stuff is illegal my wife has committed a Class A Felony against our wine glasses."

I wished those guys would have come to RIAT. I saw the Thunderbirds, Red Arrows, Fritti Aerrichi (I think that's what the Italians were called) and the Swiss ADT. (Even the French "White Flags" made an appearance  ;) )
