So heres the story a true story at that.
We have this annual ride we do at work, Thursday after work we head on over to San Luis Obispo catch the farmers market they have going on mostly to enjoy some cooler coastal waether and get out of the tripple digit heat here. The ride starts in Taft off the 33 at about 4:00 pm, goes out 58 to SLO hit the farmers market for a brief walk through straight to a pub "the frog and the peach" and then back 166 end in taft at about midnight. We have a variety of bikes, harleys to BMW and of course Ducatis ( its a two wheeled brotherhood who cares what you ride ). The number of bikes varies year to year, the most weve had on this trip is 27 the least there was 5 of us. This year 6.
im gonna skip straight to the squirrel. Heading out 58 (2 lane road) i spy with my eye a squirrel on the right side of the road, about four feet off the road in the dirt standing there on his back legs looking like hes saying a prayer before he bolts across the road. my buddy on his 848 passes him as i go by on the right side of the lane i stick my right foot out like im gonna kick th SOB even though i know i cant reach him i wanted to amuse the guys behind me. I felt somthing on the inside of my foot right at the arch of my foot, and think to myself it must have been weeds on the edge of the road. We rest stop in santa margarita and the guys that were behind tell me a wicked funny tale of how i kicked the squirrel in the head when i rode by as that idiot squirrel darted in. He apparently did a couple cart wheels in the dirt and darted back in the fields.
Me being the motorcycle ninja i am told them i planned it.
To all my two wheeled brothers who have lost it on the road because of these rodants, this ones for you!

that is much more gratifying than what I did last month....I was on my way home from work one day and I cut through this neighborhood to chop out a section of the cummuter traffic I am subjected to....well...as I was rolling through...a runner scared this furry lil tree rat out of his perch and he decided to cross my path whilst I was mounted on my Cagiva....well...I wasn't aiming for him...but sure enough I hit him as he was darting across the street in his scurry if doom and just as I got the thump of the front wheel rolling over him I tapped the rear brake and ended up smearing him with my rear wheel temporarily locked up on his carcass....the runner stared in horror and I thumbed up and let the rear brake go and kept on rollin....I looked in my mirror nd saw the flattened fauna left in the same spot and marked it in my head for the next day's journey home....sure enough, the next day...the carcass wasn't there, but the shmear of entrail and blood still was still clearly visable on the pavement....and yet I felt somewhat vindicated...
That's good for ten bonus points in these parts. [thumbsup] Furry road pizza. ;D
