I wanted to see if anyone here has experience with trying to get engine issues covered by warranty with DNA. I got out on a great ride this weekend...until something decided to pop in my motor. I had the bike towed home, pushed it to our local independent shop, where they drained the oil and found chunks of metal...never good.
The bike's a 2009, with 3200 miles on it. I'm not the original owner, but by all indications this should be covered by the 2 year manufacturer's warranty. I'm going to call the local dealer tomorrow, and wanted to see if anyone has experience with warranty claims here.
Call Hattar, I've had them do warranty work and they've always done me right.

Thanks. I can call them or Munroe. I used to prefer Hattar, but I'll get a sense of how Munroe is going to treat it.
I know what you mean about Hattar. I've had a mixed bag of experiences there, but for warranty work they've all been good .
I've bought stuff at Munroe but haven't had any bike work done by them. The guys at the parts dept have been awesome when I've dealt with them.
BTW who's the local independent shop you took your bike to?
A friend locally just got approval for a set of cases on a 2nd owner bike that was just out of warranty.
I think you'll be fine.

Desmotosport (http://desmotosport.com/). I wish they could do warranty work: I'd use them in a heartbeat. You'll pretty much get that consensus from everyone on the MOB board (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=19.0).
I bought a bike at Hattar and have had bikes serviced there. They do allright. And I live 2 blocks from Munroe and have bought plenty of parts from them. But I think the x-factor here is DNA.
Update: I called Munroe this morning. As I suspected, they said to bring the bike in, and that there was a likelihood that the DNA rep would accept the warranty claim. Unfortunately, they can't take the bike until a week from today because they're backed up in Service. So we'll see what happens, but it look like I'll be without the superbike for a while. A shame, since I've got a bachelor party/trip coming up. Fack.
