sooooooooooo awesome
if the rotors were blacked out too, id think shervinRRR had something to do with it!
I thought the 848 Dark looked good. The Stealth is amazing! [drool]
I think I need a napkin. And some clean pants.
[drool] [drool] [drool] [drool] [drool] [drool] [drool]
I might just have to buy that, it's awesome.
I think with a red frame it would look even better though!
Nice. [evil]
So is this meant to satisfy the requests for an "s" model? ???
yeah noticed they are starting to use the 'evo' term on the upgraded bikes. wonder if we're seeing the end of the 's' designation.

Funny thing is that according to the link above the price for this 2011 model is unchanged from the standard 2010 models. ???
Yes but how much?? ???
ahhhhhhhhhh oh no
this is the new standard... damn no more white! errrrr
and in that case, the 'evo' term sucks IMO.
no reason to add it to models if it's the standard model.

I don't think so. I think it is referring to the next generation of motors which still have the same displacement. The HMT was the first to use the evo name, and you can currently get an 1100evo, and an 1100evo SP (the S model).
There still isn't an 848 S model.
I just finished!
the names are starting to get convoluted.
the simple
number
number + S
number + R
were cool simple and meant something
now it's EVO
EVO SP (yes i know SP has been used as well as RS and SL)
well an 848 SL would be cool
but EVO.. yuck
so what it has a new gen engine.. it's a new year also. it's expected to be new
BLAH Ducati. bad call on the new naming...
i think the evo really refers to only the engine enhancements, just like they did with the 1100 and the 1100 evo hypers.
like others have said there is no "s" model yet as that would require better suspension as is traditionally done by ducati.
ahhh $12,995 for the dark.... $13,995 for the red
I'm not really into dark schemes but, this is my next Ducati.
Beautiful! [thumbsup]

Same here, beautiful bike. However it SUCKS that it does not come in white. Red it is...

love the evo name
13.2 : 1 compression ratio

This makes me wonder... When can one expect Ducati to replace the 848/1198 design? The basic design has been out for 4 years, right? Is this the last model before a replacment?

Planning on buying everyone an 848?? I'll move to AU asap if so.
The 848 dark almost had me rethinking getting a new car until I talked myself some sense. Damn you Ducati. Now I have to re-talk myself out of a new bike.
I'll take one
(of each) ;D
I needs to go wring out me panties.
Love the dark. It's a great scheme. A red frame would really pop, but would take away from its stealth look.

Here's a shot of the stealth..... pretty steamy in the daytime.

I like the idea of adding a red frame, i think it would be an "eclipsical" contrast. Like day and night. If Ducati did that i would instantly part ways with half my family jewels and a kidney :o.

Hell, buy Joel's 1098 then.
I agree, red frame option would be the tits
I wonder why they didn't release it as a real track bike; i.e. no head/tail lights, dark body panels (ready to be painted) with a gold frame (too difficult to paint yourself).

Probably because they wanted to make money. Releasing a track only bike doesn't seem like a great idea from a financial point of view.
