Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: Goat_Herder on July 20, 2010, 10:18:05 AM I thought the 848 Dark looked good. The Stealth is amazing! [drool]

Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: TAftonomos on July 20, 2010, 11:43:04 AM I might just have to buy that, it's awesome.
I think with a red frame it would look even better though! Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: Pedro-bot on July 20, 2010, 12:01:13 PM Nice. [evil]
So is this meant to satisfy the requests for an "s" model? ??? Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: Raux on July 20, 2010, 12:03:50 PM yeah noticed they are starting to use the 'evo' term on the upgraded bikes. wonder if we're seeing the end of the 's' designation.
Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: Pedro-bot on July 20, 2010, 12:05:39 PM yeah noticed they are starting to use the 'evo' term on the upgraded bikes. wonder if we're seeing the end of the 's' designation. Funny thing is that according to the link above the price for this 2011 model is unchanged from the standard 2010 models. ??? Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: KrakHor9 on July 20, 2010, 12:07:04 PM Yes but how much?? ???
Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: Raux on July 20, 2010, 12:08:23 PM ahhhhhhhhhh oh no
this is the new standard... damn no more white! errrrr and in that case, the 'evo' term sucks IMO. no reason to add it to models if it's the standard model. Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: Triple J on July 20, 2010, 12:10:08 PM yeah noticed they are starting to use the 'evo' term on the upgraded bikes. wonder if we're seeing the end of the 's' designation. I don't think so. I think it is referring to the next generation of motors which still have the same displacement. The HMT was the first to use the evo name, and you can currently get an 1100evo, and an 1100evo SP (the S model). There still isn't an 848 S model. Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: ab on July 20, 2010, 12:14:37 PM I just finished!
Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: Raux on July 20, 2010, 12:28:07 PM the names are starting to get convoluted.
the simple number number + S number + R were cool simple and meant something now it's EVO EVO SP (yes i know SP has been used as well as RS and SL) well an 848 SL would be cool but EVO.. yuck so what it has a new gen engine.. it's a new year also. it's expected to be new BLAH Ducati. bad call on the new naming... Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: sbrguy on July 20, 2010, 12:35:00 PM i think the evo really refers to only the engine enhancements, just like they did with the 1100 and the 1100 evo hypers.
like others have said there is no "s" model yet as that would require better suspension as is traditionally done by ducati. Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: KrakHor9 on July 20, 2010, 01:15:27 PM ahhh $12,995 for the dark.... $13,995 for the red
Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: NuTTs on July 20, 2010, 01:41:28 PM I´m not really into dark schemes but, this is my next Ducati.

The basic design has been out for 4 years, right? Is this the last model before a replacment?
Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: Veloce-Fino on July 20, 2010, 07:49:44 PM This makes me wonder... When can one expect Ducati to replace the 848/1198 design? Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: pennyrobber on July 20, 2010, 08:13:03 PM The 848 dark almost had me rethinking getting a new car until I talked myself some sense. Damn you Ducati. Now I have to re-talk myself out of a new bike.
Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: Rufus120 on July 20, 2010, 08:54:16 PM I'll take one
(of each) ;D Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: jmoth79 on July 21, 2010, 02:18:26 AM I needs to go wring out me panties.
Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: the_Journeyman on July 21, 2010, 03:43:26 AM Love the dark. It's a great scheme. A red frame would really pop, but would take away from its stealth look.

Like day and night. If Ducati did that i would instantly part ways with half my family jewels and a kidney :o.

Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: muskrat on July 24, 2010, 04:53:13 PM I agree, red frame option would be the tits
Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: IdZer0 on July 24, 2010, 08:44:15 PM I wonder why they didn't release it as a real track bike; i.e. no head/tail lights, dark body panels (ready to be painted) with a gold frame (too difficult to paint yourself).
Title: Re: 848 EVO Post by: Ratfink749 on July 25, 2010, 01:14:25 PM I wonder why they didn't release it as a real track bike; i.e. no head/tail lights, dark body panels (ready to be painted) with a gold frame (too difficult to paint yourself). Probably because they wanted to make money. Releasing a track only bike doesn't seem like a great idea from a financial point of view. |
