Title: Is swapping gauges possible? Post by: xskiervh on July 21, 2010, 09:26:23 PM Is it possible to put a 1098 gauge/speedometer on a m696? What, how, or why wouldn't this work, besides mounting obviously?

1098 motor, wiring, ecu Title: Re: Is swapping gauges possible? Post by: lofty55 on July 22, 2010, 04:42:26 PM Disable the immobilizer in the ECU. Then use any gauge cluster you want. At least I think that's right.
Title: Re: Is swapping gauges possible? Post by: Raux on July 22, 2010, 06:59:54 PM no one can disable the 696 ecu's yet. well unless you can find a rexxer equiped shop. supposedly that system can modify the computer. but then you have the wiring issue. the gauges use different connectors. and i'm sure there are tons of other details that have to be hashed out.

Title: Re: Is swapping gauges possible? Post by: Rameses on July 24, 2010, 09:12:58 PM The easiest way to do it would probably be to tear your stock cluster apart and then hide the immobilizer somewhere. Then take whatever cluster you want to use and wire up the necessary sensors to it. I'm sure that's a hell of a lot easier said than done though. Title: Re: Is swapping gauges possible? Post by: ducmon695 on September 10, 2010, 06:06:19 AM Is it possible to switch older clusters? Like I have a 07' 695 and I wanted to get the clutster from like the S4R that has the white strips on the gauges. Or is it possible to change to an older superbike cluster, like pre 1098?
