Post by: ZLTFUL on July 22, 2010, 01:23:33 PM
This thing is so frickin' cool!

It's amazing that Rossi is getting around this well...

That is cool.  Dumb Q, but the "old" cameras tilt with the bike right?

I like it. It really captures the body position and lean angle well.

I imagine that will be used for film in the future.  Very cool perspective.

Most camera technology does of course, I just haven't seen that in a movie yet. Ithought maybe it was in the first Tron Legacy trailer, but nope, not gyroscopic. Maybe I'll have to incorporate a shot opportunity like that into my screenplay... Not DMF: The Movie, though that too could use it to really capture HeMan's bike getting run over

Do you need a cinematographer?  ;D

Right now I just need better writing abilities and more imagination.  Everything I write seems to be a a blatant plagarism of the last movie I saw.

"And so Luke Skywalker . . . performed an Inception . . . in the Temple of Doom . . . while bombing Parliamant wearing a Guy Fox mask . . . after he stole a rug from Mr. Lebowski . . . and took it back to 1985 in his Delorian . . . . . Dammit!"

It's different.  Cool seeing the lean but I like the stationary camera better.  If we're going to see that used more during the races though, I'd like degree of the angle shown as well.  Seems like they've shown that before..no?

they've been showing the gyrocam+angle indicator all weekend. not sure why they didn't do it in the race.

I liked the rear axle looking back angle with the gyro cam. was pretty darn cool hehe.

^^^ Wat he said.

Without the distraction of the whole earth tilting, you can really focus on how far keeled over the competition is, and it seems easier to see how much they slide as well.

Ah..missed everything else this weekend.  I thought I heard them say something about an angle indicator.  Maybe next race?

I f'n love that gyro camera.  I almost fell out of my seat a coupla times just watching those lean angles.  Stoner's is the make the beast with two backsest though.  His I-almost-crash-on-the-gas-between-every-apex-and-rumble-strip two-wheel slide looks even more nutty with the gyro cam.

Remember those cams they had mounted pointing backwards on the bottom fairing of the Suzukis for a while? It'd be interesting to watch one of those on Casey's bike...especially towards the end of the race.
