Title: What to do about my dented tank
Post by: gh0stie on July 25, 2010, 04:53:43 PM
I had a minor get-off this week which resulted in my tank being dented, can this be fixed or will I need to replace it? Open to suggestions and recommendations.

Thanks

its only sheet metal, it can be fixed unless you want a new one. They are expensive new.

i have the same thing on my spare thank. i dont care if its got small dimples, but its a big dent. I really thought about getting some metal rods and welding it to the tank and giving it a big yank. Would look cool with dimples (considering how my bike looks already!)

Where do you live? I'll listen for the BOOM

What to do about your dented tank?!?

Simple:  Be thankful it's not plastic!  [thumbsup]

(Oh, and a good body man can take care of that.  Not a big deal really...)

+1.  You will get your tank back better than new, hinge reinforced and inside treated with POR 15.  The crease will not be a problem for him.
