Fuzzies or Furries?  There's a difference.  Both are applicable here.

BTW, DMG-run AMA allows mascots on the grid now, mb.  They had a furry Geico lizard out there.

If Tigre enters an AMA race and pops for half the suit I'll wear it.

Enzo and I are planning on coming for the first race.  Making a stop in Benicia for some 748-related bid-ness on the way up to Infineon.

Do they have any food/drink vendors set up for this event? I went here once for a SCCA event and don't remember any being set up.

There are also a few delis further north up Highway 121. You can always pack a lunch in to the track.

btw, I finally figured out who you are on the track and I'm coming after you this weekend in Open Twins - GoGo wants the head of a Tiger on a platter and I'm trying to kick the a$$ of an a$$less Ducati! :laughing  Good luck Mark, but not too much - your bike is a fricken MISSILE!

Enzo and I are leaving Pleasant Hill by 8:30 (long story).  We should be at Infineon by 9:30 at the latest we think.  Hopefully we'll be there closer to 9.

Running an errand.  Nothing exciting...

Updates?

Short version:  Gogo comes to Tigre's pit in the a.m. with a plastic tiger head glued to a paper plate.  Gogo makes good on having Tigre "head on platter" in Open Twins, but only by a couple of spots.  Karma turns out to have teeth herself and finds GoGo hitting a wall in Formula 1 and splitting his bike in half.  Gogo is OK: Bike not so good.  He was lucky relatively speaking--airlift came in for one of the other two riders that he tangled with.  Four ambulances were out on track.  Status of rider unknown, but he was conscious and in a great deal of pain from what I could see (he was in T8 and I was in T2).

And Tigre raced Formula Pacific for the 1st time.  Gained at least one spot to end up in 13th out of 20.   [thumbsup]  It was a fun day.  Lots of MOBsters showed up.

Read a post on BARF confirming (I think) that GoGo was definitely involved in that bad crash.  He was also the guy that ran, and face-planted, to get to the downed rider after having done a few somersaults on his own bike.  Very dangerous, but a nice move on his part for the other rider.  He's been worthy adversary for our Tigre and seems like a pretty stand-up guy.  Hope he and bike are going to be feeling better soon.  The report on the airlifted rider was that the heli ride was precautionary.  I'm sure more will shake out as time passes.

Fun day.   [thumbsup]  That's T8 pile-up later in the day was gnarly.  I thought that tumbling rider (who I later learned was GoGo) was going to get nailed by one of the pieces of his bike.  It absolutely exploded in mid-air after it started cartwheeling.  I was stangely relieved to see the other rider conscious and in obvious pain.  That's always better than when someone is not moving. Here's an update on the rider that was airlifted:

have a status update on Jamie. He has a broken pelvis, arm, ribs and a puncture wound that was probably from a foot peg or something. He does not need a operation on the pelvis, but does need one on his arm. The good thing is that he has movement of his body so there probably is not any back injury. He is a tough guy and i'm sure he won't be down for long.

Yeah...  strange weekend.

Mixed results on the track.

Gogo beat me by two spots in Open Twins, which would mean I need to beat him by two positions at Thunderhill in order to stay ahead of him in the points.  If Randolph does not return, I could finish as high as 2nd.
F'ing Nick Hayman rode amazing this weekend, finishing 3rd in Open Twins.  The old man turned in some massive PRs, running 1:43.3 chasing Gogo (and ALMOST getting him).  After getting held up for the first lap and a half, I tried to chase them down.  Lappers got in the way, and then I had to worry about attacks from behind from Pat Blackburn, who put his bike in front of mine at 3 different points.  I overshot turn 11 on the last lap and he almost got me back.  1:43.9 for me early in the race.  My forearms got tired and I struggled through the last half of the race.  I was happy with a "near PR" in cold/foggy conditions.

Open GP I felt more relaxed and comfortable.  I mounted an attack on the last lap and a half, but my rear tire was GONE on the right side (cold tear), and I wasn't able to pull it off.  1:44.6

Formula Pacific.  Got an "okay" start, and made a couple moves over the first couple laps.  Once I broke free of the crowd I was in, I wasn't close enough to the fast guys to get a tow, so I rode the last 8 laps by myself (reminded me of the AMA race in 2008, only I didn't get lapped!).  Best lap of 1:43.751 -- a best by .004 over my April/May 2009 times on the 749.

Open Superbike.  I got a better start (from the 2nd row, it helps!) and was able to keep the leaders in sight.  I was held up for a couple laps and when I broke free, Scott Wilson was in my sights.  I was able to chase after him, and get close enough to attack, but he held me off on the brakes going into turn 7 and on the drive out of 11.  I started opening the gas through 11 and caught a little slide and had to back off.  Best lap of 1:43.3, with ~5 laps inside my 1:43.7 mark from Formula Pacific.

Overall got through the weekend, and finally went faster at Sears on the 1198 than I have on the 749.  Ever upward!
