Title: Gearchange lever Post by: scooter1 on June 05, 2008, 08:19:46 PM I recently had to replace the gearchange lever on my 07 S4Rs due to a parking lot tip-over I was wondering if anyone knows if the bolt that holds the lever on should have threadlocker put on it and what strength if it does. Also a torque value would help.

That bolt has a shoulder on it, so it should not be possible to bind. However the part it goes into is cast aluminium so the correct torque value is critical. You don't want this part to crack when riding. Me, I don't know this value or if LockTite is required, wait until you get the proper advise here or ask a professional mechanic. Title: Re: Gearchange lever Post by: A.duc.H.duc. on June 07, 2008, 04:07:51 AM It is Aluminium, so you don't want to overtighten, but it's not a critical torque value part. As Norm said, just snug, with a drop of blue loctite should do it.
