It's a temperature switch, not pressure and it'll run fine without it (unless I'm thinking of a different sensor all together).

It'll make the idiot light on the dash stay on. No engine has oil pressure before it starts, and very few except industrial apps. have a low pressure shutdown switch.

i thought its a low oil pressure switch. it's located on the right side of the bike behind the oil filler plug. i cut mind out of my harness along with all the other idiot lights. to plug the hole i used the sensor and chopped the top part off. this is the closest handiest picture i have.

The oil pressure switch is the one Düb Lüv is referring to.  The oil temperature switch is the one on the oil screen cover.  Neither is needed for the bike to start.

Getting rid of those pesky idiot light wires really neatened up your Monster! ;D
