I went out for a "spirited" ride the other and noticed towards the end of the ride there was an increased vibration through the handlebars. I thought nothing of it until today....
Slipping the clutch out of my driveway there was a pretty rough shudder as the clutch was engaging. It didnt get any better as the ride went on and even got to the point where I was dreading to have to stop and start off. I assumed it was just the clutch at first as it seems that others with open clutch covers have similar problems -

but seemingly even with the clutch fully engaged there is an increased vibration through the bars and foot pegs. That would rule out clutch right?? Do the bearings along the clutch input shaft ever go bad??
I took out the clutch plates this evening and there was significant grooving on both the clutch basket and plates but there was no play in the clutch basket or the clutch drum........so now Im not sure what to think.
Any suggestions?? Thanks!!
This is a little like "doctor, I have a headache, what is wrong with me" You could be suffering from anything from a misfire to a loose engine mount to, depending on year and model (hint) loose flywheel as well as a host of other things.
Yea I know, Im not sure where to start looking though. What I plan to do is dremel out some of the larger ridges in the clutch basket and put the clutch back together and see if that seems to help anything.
