Just got word that a guy I worked with closely at the former workplace died unexpectedly over the weekend while camping with family and friends. He got up to grab a beer and collapsed, like a switch was flipped.
Great guy. He was only 41.
RIP Jim.
:'(
Be sure to hug those special to you today. That is all.
I hate that.
When you hit 40, time to get a full physical. He probably had some undetected heart defect.
That really sucks.
Good reminder..sorry to hear.
My condolences to all who loved him.
RIP Jim.
Thanks for the reminder to hug those you love. Telling them is even better.
RIP Jim.
Solid reminder.
Im sorry to read about your friend. My roommate from college went the same way at 40.
It is just so shocking.
We always assume we have more time.
sorry to hear. RIP.
more reason why everyone just needs to be happy, you never know when youre going to go!
Wow, just collapsed and died right there on the spot? Wonder if he was hiding something and didn't want anyone to know he was sick. That's scary.
Sad news, my condolences to you and his family. With all due respect here that's not a bad way to go, just way too early. Like maybe 40 years too early. Probably right about the undetected heart condition. Back in my college days my girlfriend's roommate lost her boyfriend in a similar fashion. He was an ex-college basketball player who had just recently graduated. He was in great shape yet collapsed and died while jogging. Proabably 25 years old. Sad.
Just got the news - massive heart attack. Complete blockage in two arteries, another nearly so.
You'd have never guessed by looking at him, skinny as a rail and pretty fit in general. He smoked a lot though, and probably had horrible cholesterol and such and never even knew it.
Indeed, not a bad way to go, but way too soon.
:(
RIP :'(
RIP
:(
I'm getting a full physical tomorrow
I haven't been to a doctor in 10 years at least
I had this dream...
Something in it spurred me to make the appointment.
RIP Jim
yes RIP ............and why is all the shitheads of society live until they are 107? Just not fair.........not fair at all.
I lost a friend of 40 years last week.
He, I was told by his wife, had just gone out in the front yard and was coming right back and his wife looked out the window and there he was on the ground.
Autopsy showed 90% blockage of his Carotid Arteries at age 58 .
He did smoke a lot and ate whatever he pleased.
His Brother and Law called it 3 years ago when he told him if he didn't change his ways he'd be dead in a few years.
Like HeMan said, - Be Happy 'cause you never know when it's your time or something to that effect.

low stress. "shitheads" are often care-free people, they don't worry about nothin'!
stress = death.
and yes, you can be happy all the time and still be a worrier.
When I was a kid my judo instructor died of an MI during class - just dropped to the floor and turned blue. He was a trainer at the Air Force Academy in excellent shape. It traumatized me sufficiently to propel me into medical school years later.
I've seen way too many people die way too early, often for no good reason. I try to live every day as I would if I knew I was going to drop dead at some random point in the next month. One of these days, I'm going to be right.
This a good reminder to take nothing for granted. And more importantly, please take care of yourself. People all around you need you to be around and will miss you miserably if you are gone.
RIP Jim. :'(
sad,
if nothing else its a wake up call to you and your loved ones to try to be healthy and keep on top of things before any signs show up.
even if you do everything right, its still no guarantee that things will be "right" or "fair".
That's just how life is at times. But i agree with the OP, try to cherish the moments you have because nobody knows how many you got.
Jim's funeral was today.
By far the most somber and sad that I've ever attended. Understandably, his wife was a wreck. But worst of all was seeing his two little nieces, who loved him as if he were their Dad.
It broke my heart. :'(
Go to the doc, and be sure to enjoy every moment.
Thank you for the reminder. RIP Jim. :(
:( how sad
Just remember.......( I'm not trying to be trite )........
No one said ..... Life is going to be Fair !
