Hey I am wondering if the 20mm rise on the 796 is the riser or the riser + the bars (if they are different)???
So.... if it is just the riser, can I switch mine out on my 1100 for this and get a 20mm rise?
That would be just about right!
not certain, but isn't the 1100 bar a variable section bar?
if so isn't it a large diameter at the clamp?
and i think i read the 796 bar changed the sweep
Yeah, I wasn't sure about sweep or rise in the bar itself.... just wondering if the bottom clamp would fit and supply the 20mm.
The 796 bar riser fits the 1100. We've done this for a customer recently.
The 796 and 1100 use the larger diameter tapered bar. The 696 is the exception with the non tapered bar.
So I wasn't the first to think of it!! Dang.... glad it works, tho. a m, did it give the 20mm of rise? What is the cost on that part, and did it require any re-routing or anything? THANKS [bow_down] [bacon]
Yes, the rise was the same as the 796 - no need to reroute anything. Get a double bonus and adjust the bar sweep to your liking when you are wrenching about, and make sure your brake/clutch controls are in positions that are comfortable to you. (no awkward bent wrists!)

(I work at AMS if you are feelin' like ordering it).
Thanks... I am unclear on how to adjust the bar sweep?
Rotating the bars within the riser. Then adjust brake and clutch controls so they are at the correct angle, keeping you from having an awkwardly bent wrist. [thumbsup]
Thanks!! I am definitely going to do this mod....
