Title: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: bmonty72 on August 16, 2010, 07:48:22 AM I am interested in getting one of these for my S2R 800, but have read several posts where people are having trouble with the LED turn signals. Does anyone have one of these taillights that has been problem free?
http://www.motodynamic.com/product_info.php?cPath=17_18&products_id=199 (http://www.motodynamic.com/product_info.php?cPath=17_18&products_id=199) I know a lot of people don't post unless they have had problems with a product....but I want to see if there is any positive feedback for this taillight. Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: He Man on August 16, 2010, 07:53:32 AM I have it. No problems other then the fact that all my signals are LEDs so i needed resistsors.
they are really helpful with help via phone too. I would highly recommend this product over the CA unit. i just wish ti wasnt smoked cause it makes it a bit harder to see. Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: ChrisH on August 16, 2010, 08:13:37 AM Why use resistors? A proper solid state flasher relay would be the better solution, no? Not sure how the ducati wiring is, but I built a complete wiring harness for my toy bike and used an elfr1 flasher relay due to running all led's and it works great.
Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: Ddan on August 16, 2010, 12:08:53 PM I've had no problems with mine, but only had it a couple of months. I didn't need any resistors and I've got LED's all around.
Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: djrashonal on August 16, 2010, 10:08:42 PM haven't had any issues with mine, and I've had it about 9 months. For the price, I'd buy it again. And they gave me 5 bucks off for being part of the DMF [thumbsup]

And they gave me 5 bucks off for being part of the DMF [thumbsup] i have the older version without the license plate light. I would sell mine just to get that one. its got a button, i could wire it up to the handle bars and shut it off at night. :D Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: 1KDS on August 17, 2010, 12:48:08 PM Had mine about a year, still works great

How much $ would a used light such as this run? I have not chopped my tail...yet, so I don't need the plate light....Hmmmmm...
Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: djrashonal on August 18, 2010, 08:48:34 AM Honestly, I haven't seen too many for sale used but i would say anywhere from 50-60 bucks depending on the condition.
Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: ducatiz on August 18, 2010, 09:03:05 AM I am really pleased to see they have a 3-flash alert for the brake circuit.
Given that a TailBlazer drop-in replacement costs $60, this is a deal. I am buying it . Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: bmonty72 on August 24, 2010, 11:23:36 AM OK..so I got the Motodynamic taillight...in clear, not smoke. I blew 1 fuse during the install, I think I pinched a wire putting things back together. Now, everything works whether the bike is running or not. I'm very happy with it so far!
Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: djrashonal on August 24, 2010, 01:41:54 PM Awesome! glad you like it! Now me and HeMan just have to find people to buy ours so we can get the new one [thumbsup]

Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: dansamp on August 28, 2010, 05:15:57 AM the stock turn signal wiring is
black / white and blue / black or yellow / black I can't remember which I assumed black is negative I could hear the flasher clicking and the taillight would dim/flicker but it would all stay red no sequence no yellow Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: ducatiz on August 28, 2010, 05:25:50 AM if your wiring is good, then its a problem with the unit. call them.

will try this afternoon Thanks Dan. Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: djrashonal on August 28, 2010, 09:10:11 AM Start the bike and try it. Mine won't flash unless it's running. same, i thought it was broken too. Called them and they told me the same thing Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: Unhinged on August 28, 2010, 07:29:37 PM Hope the problems aren't too serious :-\
I ordered mine a few days ago. Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: Duc796canada on August 29, 2010, 11:32:22 AM I would like to get the flasher brakes light(alert unit), but still keep my original turn signals(with LED). Is it possible to find unit out there that does that?
Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: bmonty72 on August 29, 2010, 04:22:27 PM You could buy this light and just not wire the integrated turn signals. OR....I believe there is a brake light flasher unit out there somewhere...

Is it possible to find unit out there that does that? Desmoworld has it. Integrated turn signals are not road legal in Germany, so they sell an LED unit with just the runner and brake lights. Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: Chris, desmoworld on August 30, 2010, 02:48:36 PM no , we dont have this type of "bling bling brake lights" !!! you can get LED inserts or complete tail lights, also integrated tail lights , but allways with standard ON/OFF funktion ;D like this Monster 696 - 796 - 1100 Integrated Taillight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dg2EqkMNcrY#normal) for old or new monster, hyper,streetfighter,848-1198 and so on ... but allways only ON/OFF [laugh] i´m sure you can´t go 2km with a flasher light here in germany, but i also don´t like this bling bling... for me it looks like carnival not like a Ducati [roll] but well done , good job ! Check out the Vizi-tec Supabrake unit: http://www.vizi-tec.com/ (http://www.vizi-tec.com/) Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: Duc796canada on August 31, 2010, 11:45:58 PM Check out the Vizi-tec Supabrake unit: http://www.vizi-tec.com/ (http://www.vizi-tec.com/) Thanks everyone for the responses. The VIZI-TECH supabrake looks like the product I was looking for, it's exactly the idea I had in mind. Thanks. The question is, is the current draw for the 696 796 and 1100 the same for the brake light? Hopefully, I just ordered it. Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: Alan T on September 03, 2010, 07:37:59 AM Pictures of your installs? Specifically, with the smoked lense.
Title: Re: Motodynamics Integrated LED Taillights Post by: bmonty72 on September 03, 2010, 01:39:28 PM I ended up going with the clear lens. And did not take any pictures during install. It's pretty straight forward, the only tricky part was tucking and hiding the wires if you use the integrated signals.
