Title: Ride marathon
Post by: EEL on June 06, 2008, 02:57:25 PM
So my wife is visiting her family in Alaska on the 27th and not coming back till after the 4th of July. I looking at this as on opportunity to ride the $hit out of my bike. Unfortunately, I've got work from Monday to Thursday but im open after work. I'm even open for a ride on Friday the 27th after I drop her off at the airport.

I'd love to do some group rides on the weekends and some during the weekdays, I'm live in palo alto but work in milpitas so east bay, south bay and peninsula are all accessible during the weekdays.

If you guys are planning rides let me know. If you guys want to plan out a ride let me know. My open hours are listed below.

Here's a goal for you to beat....

996.87 miles in 18 hours. I went from Austin, TX to Atlanta, GA overnight.  [moto] [coffee] [moto] [coffee]

True story. [thumbsup]

Yes, there were women involved...  Identical twins to be exact. [evil]

Omg twins... Last twins I was drinking with my buddy got rejected by them so he poured his cocktail down the back of one of the girls pants and the lime got wedged between her nice, firm, tan, no under-wearing butt cheeks... It was the one time in my life I really wanted to do some tequila shooters...

Dam, that's naughty DW13  :o

EEL, friday afternoon sounds good for the 27th and the 4th for a ride. I work late night and on the weekends so afternoons during the week are good for me. I might not be able to make the whole ride, but could certainly join for a good chunk of the afternoon  ;D

After this weekend's ride, my back feels pretty good. I might be up for a few hours out on the bike this week.

But I did have a though about riding on the 4th... It is a BIG [drink] TIME [drink] HOLIDAY! Which will mean BIG TIME [leo] POLICE [leo] PRESENCE [leo].

And with all the petty reasons they've come up with to stop motorcyclist these days, the increased patrols might be something to consider.

Just my $.02 ;D

Yeah I think I'm staying off the streets until winter comes back and the force goes back into hibernation. Maybe they'll be busy giving out Cell Phone violation tickets, wouldn't that be nice :D

I'm game for anything. I pretty much know the 9/35/84/empire grade/HWY 1/Stage/Swanton/Bonny doon roads like the back of my hand. Little less familiar with the mines / calaveras / redwood rd / east bay rides. Pick something and I am game for Sunday.

Good point, a couple of weekends ago I spotted 3 separate patrol cars on 84 between Pescadero and Alice's. [leo]

I can ride 35/84/Pescadero/hwy 1 if you're game.

You've got pm.

Not sure if EEL will be posting between now and tomorrow, so will pm you shortly for a heads up (assuming you are referencing Sunday's ride).

We might be doing this: how about panoramic, 1 to pt reyes (gas) then to Tomales petaluma, chileno valley, then cut over to pt reyes petaluma rd, nicasio then lucas valley.   The usual loop, very fun.  We can get some lunch at pizza antica after maybe?

But I'll talk to the guys tomorrow and maybe we will switch it up and meet up at alices at 10:15.  I have your cell.

Leaving now for Hwy 9.  I'll let EEL make the call if he wants to switch things up since it's originally his ride.  I have a feeling we will stay down here. If we don't meet...have a fun/safe ride.

We managed to stay out of the LEOs' eyes, the roads were dry for the most part, and the company was good.

Good times EEL  [thumbsup]  [moto] .  I'll try to get back on your schedule one of these days for another ride.

Agreed!

That as an excellent first experience with Pescadero. Good pace, good ride. Ping me if you're available during the week. [thumbsup]
